Deane’s Caulfield Saturday Selections Posted on July 29, 2016August 1, 2016 | Posted by Deane Lester Deane Lester’s Preview RACE 1 NO. 2 TURBO STREET TURBO STREET has been enjoying a fruitful preparation and can continue on his winning way when he runs in the Carol Kelly Plate (2000m). The Tony McEvoy trained gelding was given a sweet ride by Craig Williams when recording a strong win over 1600 metres at Moonee Valley on July 10. Williams retains the ride and the step up in distance shouldn’t pose an issue for this in-form horse. It’s a suitable race and TURBO STREET appeals as one of the better bets of the day. RACE 2 NO. 3 BONDEIGER The VOBIS Gold Stayers (2400m) is one of the feature races of the day and Craig Williams looks to have another plum ride aboard BONDEIGER, who can avenge a luckless defeat last start. The four year old has only had two runs for the Darren Weir stable and was severely blocked for a run when finishing 5th behind SCHERZOSO over 2000 metres at Caulfield on July 16. He looks to be finding the form that saw him finish runner-up in the 2014 Victoria Derby (2500m) behind multiple group one winner PREFERMENT. The extra distance of this race is in his favour and BONDEIGER looks ideally placed to record his third career victory. RACE 3 NO. 3 CRAFTY COP The Brian Reckas Handicap (1000m) looks a strong race for the late season two year olds and CRAFTY COP is well placed to make a winning return to racing. The Team Hawkes trained colt was a debut winner over 1100 metres at Warwick Farm on March 9 before a brave third behind ATTENTION in the Baillieu Handicap (1400m) at Rosehill on March 26. He showed that he has returned to work in great form with a brilliant trial win in the fastest time of the day over 900 metres at Rosehill on July 19. He faces strong opposition in this race including brilliant last start winner NASDEX but should prove too classy for this field. Bet Now
