Deane’s Caulfield Saturday Selections Posted on July 15, 2016July 21, 2016 | Posted by Deane Lester Deane Lester’s Preview RACE 1 NO.10 SEBRIKKA Promising filly SEBRIKKA looks well placed to continue on her winning way when she runs in the TROA Supports Jockey Trust Handicap (1200m). The David Hayes and Tom Dabernig trained galloper was most impressive winning over 1000 metres at Ballarat on May 18. She recorded the best sectionals of the day and was only getting stronger at the end of that race. She will appreciate a step up in distance and looks a good prospect; sure to run well again. RACE 3 NO.2 FEARLESS RAIDER Lightly raced stayer FEARLESS RAIDER is showing genuine improvement at each run and looks the testing material when he runs in the Wilson Medic One Handicap (2000m). The son of Rebel Raider has only had four starts for his maiden win over 1400 metres at Ballarat three starts back before a strong second over 1500 metres at Ballarat on June 16. At his last run, he faced a sharp rise in distance, a chequered run in transit yet still battled on bravely to finish 4th behind HURSLEY over 2000 metres at Caulfield on July 2. He will be improved by that run over this distance and top rider Dwayne Dunn takes the mount. He’s a good staying prospect and FEARLESS RAIDER appeals as the best bet of the day. RACE 9 NO.1 VIBRANT ROUGE VIBRANT ROUGE should be close to peak fitness following two runs back from a long spell and represents good value when she contests the Mares Handicap (1200m). The seven year old raced without luck when finishing 5th behind A LOTTA LOVE over 1200 metres at Caulfield on July 2. She finished the race full of running and, arguably, could have won with clearer running. This race looks a great option and, with the benefit of Jake Bayliss’ 2kg claim, VIBRANT ROUGE looks a terrific each way gamble. Bet Now
