Shortte’s Handful for Cannington Posted on April 20, 2016April 20, 2016 | Posted by David Shortte David Shortte’s Preview Race 6 No. 1 OAKLAND RAIDER In-form sprinter who has 3 wins and 2 placings from his last 5 starts. Last time out over the 490 metres at Mandurah zoomed over from box 7 and led throughout to win by more than 4 lengths in a best of night time of 27.36. Has won both starts here at Cannington over the 520 metres and with his early speed should zoom straight to the top. Looks awfully hard to beat. Race 7 No. 5 ACTIVATOR Outstanding shortcourse performer who has won 23 of his 49 starts with a further 17 placings. Having his first try here over the 380 metres but on recent form at Mandurah only has to transfer that to be hard to stop. Generally gets out of the boxes with great haste and with a clean getaway looms as the one they will all have to chase down. Race 8 No. 5 BARACCA KEEPING Quality sprinter who has been running into the flying Astrophysic at most recent starts and has done a fine job to be placed behind that dog in 3 of his last 5 attempts. Was a winner 4 starts back over Activator over the 405 metres at Mandurah in 22.69 and has put together a very impressive CV in his 27 start career. On debut at this track but if he brings his recent form to this event will take some stopping.
