Bunbury 11 February – Thoroughbreds Preview Posted on February 11, 2016February 11, 2016 | Posted by Greg Hooper Greg Hooper’s Preview RACE 5 NO. 10 MISS ICONIC MISS ICONIC was backed as in unbeatable on debut however she was unable to withstand the powerful late burst of an impressive debutante. She should be able to work over from her wide gate to lead or breeze and make amends for her first-up defeat. RACE 6 NO. 7 CONE BAY CONE BAY was a big first-up winner at this track and then was sent out the raging favourite in Saturday class however after missing the kick and being unable to lead he faded to finish midfield. The drop back to 1200m looks favourable and if he jumps well he is drawn to lead and win. RACE 7 NO. 7 HUSSON MAID HUSSON MAID finally shook her maiden tag at Pinjarra when she was able to sit wide throughout and prove too strong over the mile. The step up in distance should suit and she meets a very moderate bunch of stayers. She can go on with the job and make it back to back wins. RACE 8 NO. 4 RUBY CAN RUN RUBY CAN RUN put in a slashing first-up run in town coming from well of the speed to finish runner-up behind a handy mare. This looks a much easier race and if settles close enough to the speed she should zap them. RACE 10 NO. 1 FALCON CREST FALCON CREST was heavily supported in betting first-up however he didn’t appear to be suited drawing an inside gate at Pinjarra, racing on the inferior surface and fading to finish midfield. The wide draw should ensure he gets plenty of room to move and there appears very little depth to this race.
