Big Bash Game 1 Preview Posted on December 19, 2017December 19, 2017 | Posted by David Shortte SYDNEY THUNDER v SYDNEY SIXERS The Big Bash gets underway at Spotless Stadium this afternoon when the Sydney Thunder play host to their cross-town rivals the Sydney Sixers. The Sixers are coming off a runner-up performance in last year’s tournament while the Sydney Thunder finished in the wooden spoon position. The Thunder will be minus star West Indian Andre Russell and England ODI Captain Eoin Morgan this season and have added English International Jos Butler and New Zealand Quickie Mitch McClenaghan to their lineup. The Sydney Sixers have had some significant changes to their roster with Brad Haddin, Michael Lumb and Josh Hazlewood all no longer with them. Former Test Keeper Phil Neville is their one significant signing. Watch out for the TABtouch special right throughout the course of the Big Bash whereby if you place a Match Result bet and your team wins, and 13 or more sixes are scored in the match, you will receive a 50% bonus on your winnings up to $50 (on-line account bets only). In this match the Sixers have been clearly the better backed of the two sides and are now into $1.71 while the Thunder have drifted out to $2.19. Verdict : I think the Sydney Sixers have a more experienced side with more depth and expect them to win at the $1.71.
