Greg’s Belmont Best Bets Posted on July 8, 2016July 11, 2016 | Posted by Greg Hooper Greg Hooper’s Preview RACE 1 VEUVE DE VEGA should be to strong in this opener. He is a horse of plenty of promise and just needs to cross from his wide gate to make it back to back wins. MAULDENS MILL ran well behind Veuve De Vega on debut and can finish in the same spot again. BURNING MAGIC will grind away on the speed. NODUSTONME will box seat and has place claims. Numbers – 1 – 2 – 10 – 3 Suggested Bet – Veuve De Vega win RACE 2 DON’TGETCAUGHT had trialled super twice leading into his first-up run where not much went right. Pike goes back on and he can improve sharply. PROPERANTES looks very close to a win. Jordan Turner does have a good record on him. STOCKS flies on wet tracks and is close to a win. SHINTA MANI drops back to a mile which is a query however she has had raced at this distance with success previously. Numbers – 5 – 1 – 3 – 2 Suggested Bet – Don’tgetcaught and Properantes RACE 3 MATERIAL MAN is a horse of immense promise. He returns from a five week break which is a query but he is drawn well and weighted to win. IT’S IT has bumped into star at both runs this campaign. Harvey goes on and the 1400m should suit. SOCIALLY UNIQUE has returned to racing in brilliant form this preparation. MAD BRAD looks close to a win. Numbers – 10 – 4 – 2 -1 Suggested Bet – Material Man win RACE 4 STATE SOLICITOR should make it a winning hat-trick. He’s a horse of considerable promise and will be too good for these. PATRIMONIO looks the clear second. His class got him over the line first-up over 1000m. SURPARK is a wet tracker. He was solid last start. TUDOR BOLT has place claims again. Numbers – 5 – 6 – 4- 1 Suggested Bet – State Solicitor win RACE 5 ANOTHER VISION was solid last week in what looked a stronger race. Off the quick back up and racing against her own sex she gets her chance. ILLUSION OF LIGHT hasn’t won a race for 2 years but this looks a nice assignment for her. BOURBON DYNASTY should get a perfect run behind the speed and Pike takes the ride. DENDEE will get off the speed and rattle home. Numbers – 2 – 5 – 8 – 13 Suggested Bet – Another Vision each-way RACE 6 BEAUCOUNT looks very hard to beat in this year’s Dayana Plate. He was caught wide throughout in the Belmont Guineas and battled on strongly. From gate 3 he settles just behind the speed and has the class to beat these. JUICING CARROTS looks the obvious danger. He will run the trip strongly and Pike rides. JETOOMY and CHECKERS have place claims. Numbers – 7 – 3 – 4 – 8 Suggested Bet – Beaucount win RACE 7 PRESS THE PETAL looks a dyed in the wool stayer and she should get a lovely run from gate 1. If it does become a slog by late in the day she can out stay them. SHOWY CHLOE is the class runner and is weighted to win. HEY LISTEN rises in class but she was dominant last start and the stable is flying. IN THIS LIFE has claims with Harvey on. Numbers – 13 – 1- 8 – 3 Suggested Bet – Press The Petal each-way RACE 8 IT’S DYNAMATE is rock hard fit and gets her chance after the claim for Randy Tan. HOT GOODS excels on rain affected surfaces. RULE TO WYN is another who likes the cut out of the ground. BLACK DYNAMITE is the best horse in the race but first-up on the wet track is the query. Numbers – 13 – 6 – 3 – 8 Suggested Bet – It’s Dynamite each-way QUADDIE RACE 5 – 1, 2, 5, 8, 10 RACE 6 – 3, 7 RACE 7 – 1, 2, 3, 8, 11, 13 RACE 8 – 1, 3, 6, 7, 8, 11, 13 [button class=”bet-now” style=”btn-default btn-lg” type=”link” target=”false” title=”Bet Now” link=”https://www.tabtouch.com.au/racing/2016-07-09/pr” linkrel=””]
