Greg’s Belmont Best Bets Posted on July 13, 2016July 14, 2016 | Posted by Greg Hooper Greg Hooper’s Preview RACE 1 SCANDAL MAKER has trialled in terrific order and should take some beating on debut. He will settle right on the speed and give a big sight. SWEET ORA was a strong first-up winner and will get all the favours from gate 1. TAKEN HIGH has trialled well and hails from a strong yard. PARADING was solid on debut and should give a sight on speed. Numbers – 5 – 1 – 12 – 2 Suggested Bet – Scandal Maker win RACE 2 YOU’RE A RUM’IN resumes from a spell off a strong trial effort. He showed plenty in his first preparation and this looks a nice assignment for him. TWO SILVER TREES has been freshened-up since putting in an ordinary effort. She’s quick and can give a big sight on speed. REGAL GLEAM should box seat from a good draw. EXTREME DREAMS improved sharply last start when ridden off the speed. Numbers – 3 – 9 – 1 – 2 Suggested Bet – You’re A Rum’in and Two Silver Trees RACE 3 KNUCKLE DOWN improved sharply second-up when stepping up in distance. This is a very thin maiden and if he holds form he should be too strong. COULEUR BIZARRE has had a heap of chances however Pike goes on. MIXED MESSAGES has claims on best form. LADY VALOREM ran well fist-up. Numbers – 4 – 1 – 11 – 13 Suggested Bet – Knuckle Down win RACE 4 EMPYREUS looks very close to a win. If he can jump well and settle handy to the speed he should be too good for these. VANDALAGO is still a maiden but he has ability and had no luck last week. NIGHT PROWLER drops in class. BOLLYWOOD BLITZ can settle on the speed and give a sight. Numbers – 4 – 9 – 3 – 6 Suggested Bet – Empyreus win RACE 5 BALMAYA ran well first-up at Northam. He’s drawn to settle handy to the speed and gets his chance. MAMBOKADZI was a strong first-up winner and the rise to 1400m should suit. VACQUERYAS is racing well and should be suited with the expected strong top end speed. BARAKI BEATS can give a sight on the pace. Numbers – 7 – 8 – 11 – 2 Suggested Bet – Balmaya and Mambokadzi RACE 6 CROWN LAWYER finds it very hard to win however this is the easiest race he has contested for a long time. FURIOUS DAME should lead and take some catching. She excels at this trip. BELLE LA VIE can improve with drop in trip and Pike goes on. POP HERO gets a soft run from gate 1 and can run in the first-four. Numbers – 1 – 2 – 9 – 3 Suggested Bet – Crown Lawyer and Furious Dame RACE 7 IT’S DYNAMITE has been scratched from the last to be saved for this which is a good lead. If she holds form she should be very hard to beat. DELICATE MISS can lead from gate 1 and give a big sight. GRECO is racing well. GIGIDY GIGIDY GOO will finish powerfully. Numbers – 18 – 3 – 4 – 2 Suggested Bet – It’s Dynamite and Delicate Miss RACE 8 BEAUCOUNT looks very hard to beat in this year’s Dayana Plate. He was caught wide throughout in the Belmont Guineas and battled on strongly. From gate 3 he settles just behind the speed and has the class to beat these. JUICING CARROTS looks the obvious danger. He will run the trip strongly and Pike rides. JETOOMY and CHECKERS have place claims. Numbers – 7 – 3 – 4 – 8 Suggested Bet – Beaucount win RACE 9 PRESS THE PETAL looks a dyed in the wool stayer and she should get a lovely run from gate 1. If it does become a slog by late in the day she can out stay them. SHOWY CHLOE is the class runner and is weighted to win. HARPOON improved sharply second-up and if they are making ground she will be motoring home. HEY LISTEN rises in class but she was dominant last start and the stable is flying. Numbers – 13 – 1- 11- 8 Suggested Bet – Press The Petal each-way RACE 10 BLACK DYNAMITE will sit just behind the speed and be hard to hold out particularly on the drying surface. HOT GOODS wasn’t at her best last campaign. She resumes without a trial and Pike rides. MYSTIC MAID flies at 1000m and is suited drawing a wide gate. RULE TO WYN always has claims at this trip. Numbers – 8 – 6 – 11 – 3 Suggested Bet – Black Dynamite win QUADDIE RACE 7 – 2, 3, 4, 16, 18 RACE 8 – 3, 7 RACE 9 – 1, 2, 3, 4, 8, 9, 11, 13 RACE 10 – 1, 3, 6, 7, 8, 11 [button class=”bet-now” style=”btn-default btn-lg” type=”link” target=”false” title=”Bet Now” link=”https://www.tabtouch.com.au/racing/2016-07-13/pr” linkrel=””]
