Greg’s Belmont Best Bets Posted on July 6, 2016July 7, 2016 | Posted by Greg Hooper Greg Hooper’s Preview RACE 1 IRISHTOWN has impressed at the trials and he should get a lovely run from gate 1. He can win at his race track debut. DUSTY STORM can lead or box seat from gate 2. GENERAL HUSSON looks very close to a win. GOLGATHA should improve off his first-up win. Numbers – 6 – 1 – 2 -5 Suggested Bet – Irishtown win RACE 2 FOXY ROYALE was solid at Pinjarra where he bumped into a promising type. The drop back to 1000m should suit and he can give a big sight on the speed. FAULTY resumes from a spell without a trial. Everything this stable is saddling up must be respected. YOU WANT ANSWERS ran well in Saturday grade first-up. With normal luck he goes very close at this level. UNDETERRED was asked for little in a trial. Numbers – 12 – 5 – 10 – 7 Suggested Bet – Foxy Royale win RACE 3 LOVE TRADE won his maiden well two back and then had little luck last week. This race looks very soft and he should get all the favours from gate 2. STAUNTON finished strongly first-up at Pinjarra and the rise to 1400m should suit. VITAL LASS ran well two back. INDEFATIGABLE has shown ability in his career to date and the blinkers go on. Numbers – 6 – 3 – 10 – 5 Suggested Bet – Love Trade win RACE 4 LE PATRON flies fresh and has trialled well for her return. From gate 1 she gets all the favours and sprint over the top of these. STABLE SECRET was flying last campaign including running a game second to the smart Kennocha when resuming. BANGALORE got the job done first-up although racing a bit greenly. BOMBS AWAY drops in grade. Numbers – 6 -2 – 5 – 1 Suggested Bet – Le Patron and Stable Secret RACE 5 COUNT TOMOZ OFF was a strong winner at his race track debut. He should improve off that run and go very close. ASTRONOMITE was unlucky first-up but made amends with a dominant last start win. TUCKY’S LAD has an awkward gate to contend with but can win. EYES WIDE OPEN has plenty of ability. Numbers – 3 -2 – 6- 8 Suggested Bet – Count Tomoz Off win RACE 6 JUST A FALCON represents some value in this very open race. He flies second-up and is suited with the rise in distance. GONDIGGIN will appreciate the step up to 1700m. She tags the speed and can win. ALVARES will lead and give them something to catch. VANDALAGO is a horse on the rise. Numbers – 1 – 8 – 2 – 14 Suggested Bet – Just A Falcon and Gondiggin RACE 7 METEROID resumes with the benefit of a soft trial effort. She is a mare of some promise and was a first-up winner last preparation. MAIN INSTIGATOR should roll forward and improve on a flat effort. CRONKITE resumes from a spell for his new trainer Grant Williams and Pike takes the mount. WELL SPOKEN MAN will give a sight on the speed. Numbers – 3 – 2 – 12 – 6 Suggested Bet – Meteroid Win QUADDIE RACE 4 – 1, 2, 5, 6 RACE 5 – 2, 3, 6, 8 RACE 6 – 1, 2, 5, 6, 8, 14 RACE 7 – 2, 3, 12 Bet Now
