Greg’s Saturday Ascot Preview Posted on November 4, 2016November 7, 2016 | Posted by Greg Hooper Greg Hooper’s Preview RACE 1 SWEET ORA continues to race in a brilliant fashion despite being up for an eternity. She made a mess of her rivals last week in what was arguably a career best performance. If she holds form, she wins. BADGE OF COURAGE looks a handy type from the Simon Miller team. He will lead or breeze and can fill a placing. The Neville Parnham duo of FAIRIE WHISPER and I AM INCREDIBLE next best. Numbers – 1 – 6 – 7 – 3 Suggested Bet – SWEET ORA WIN RACE 2 ALREADY FAMOUS came on big time last start when producing a very impressive win in similar grade. He did enjoy the world perfect run behind a strong tempo however from gate 1 expecting the skilful apprentice Jordan Turner to give him every mortal again. VERDELLO BLUE was taken on from a long way in the same race. He did a terrific job to battle on and hold down second. Pike on a huge plus. BEDAMIJO gets up in trip and drops in class. DRIVE WEST can work into the first-four. Numbers – 2 – 3 – 1 – 4 Suggested Bet – ALREADY FAMOUS AND VERDELLO BLUE SuperPick - Race 2 No. 2 ALREADY FAMOUS - Money Back – Run 2nd RACE 3 On paper it looks close to a match race between ASTRONOMITE and RIVER DANCE. From gate 1 leaning to ASTRONOMITE however there is little between them as their last clash showed. TRAVELLIN’ excels at this distance range. DISTANT MEMORY looks the leader and flop into the first-four. Numbers – 3 – 9 – 1 – 4 Suggested Bet – ASTRONOMITE AND RIVER DANCE RACE 4 BOMBER BAY has suffered a long run of outs however signs are encouraging that he finally crack it for an overdue win. He gave his all in midweek grade where he bumped into a nice type in Settlers Creek. This race doesn’t look any harder and provided he step away cleanly and utilise his good alley he’ll get his chance. SOMEDAY ONE DAY should get a nice drop on the leaders and Pike takes the ride. MAGIC ROCKET has found form. He’ll get back from a wide gate but if they are making ground he can win. BOWL A DOOSRA was below his best firs-up. The increase in distance will suit as he’s a freewheeling grinder. Numbers – 4 – 6 – 2 – 5 Suggested Bet – BOMBER BAY AND SOMEDAY ONE DAY RACE 5 KENNOCHA finished off solidly last start suggesting she is returning to her better form. This has been her preferred track throughout her career and from a good draw she should get a lovely drop on the leaders. KING RIVER will get back and monster the line as he always does. He clearly the testing material again. GIGANTE has to lump the 59kg however offsetting that to a degree if=s the fact he should get a lovely run from gate 1. FURIOUS DAME can lead and give a big sight. Numbers – 4 – 5 – 1 – 6 Suggested Bet – KENNOCHA SAVE KING RIVER RACE 6 This is a really intriguing running of the WAROA Lee Steere Stakes highlighted by the appearance of a Five-Time Group 1 winner from New Zealand, KAWI. Michael Walker has jetted over to take the ride and with no confidence at all I’ll put him on top as his record speaks for itself. DISPOSITION was very good in defeat in the Northerly Stakes. He can settle closer from a better draw. LITE’N IN MY VEINS HAS showed he belongs at this level with wins in the Birthday & Northerly Stakes. PERFECT RELFECTION will likely go back and finish nicely. Numbers – 2 – 3 – 4 – 7 Suggested Bet – KAWI AND DISPOSITION RACE 7 GET OVER IT raced a bit keen in the Belgravia but still loomed like the winner on straightening until his run petered out late. He should improve off that run and if he can settle better he has strong claims for his first feature win. SAUL’S SPECIAL was very good in the Belgravia. He really attacked the line suggesting the 1400m is perfect. He has the gate and the inform jockey. LUSAHA looks the leader. This is a step up in class but he’s racing well and if he can control from in front he has winning claims. RAGAZZO D’ORO will get a pie run from gate 1 and can add some value to first-fours. Numbers – 7 – 5 – 9 – 14 Suggested Bet – GET OVER IT AND SAUL’S SPECIAL RACE 8 CRONKITE is undefeated since joining the Williams team. He resumes from a seven week let-up after he developed a virus. If he’s ready to rock and roll he gives this a big shake. RIPPER RIO has turned it on at both starts this campaign. He should get a lovely run from a good draw and go close again. JUENDIS was never a hope last start in a race dominated by speed runners. From gate 1 he can settle much handier. SETTLERS CREEK next best. Numbers – 7 – 6 – 10 – 8 Suggested Bet – CRONKITE AND RIPPER RIO Bet Now
