Greg’s Wednesday Ascot Preview Posted on March 29, 2017 | Posted by Greg Hooper Greg Hooper’s Preview RACE 1 Tricky start to the program with Ben Pearce saddling up three of the seven runners. Going for MONEY MAHER who has run well in all three career starts including a strong second when resuming from a spell 12 days back. The only query is he appears to be looking for further than the 1100m. EVERYTHING’S SWEET made some ground along the fence in the Gimcrack. Pike goes on and this is big drop in class. GET THE VIBE hails from the strong Jim Taylor yard and she has looked professional in her trial efforts. CLASSY MARCY next best. Numbers – 1 – 7 – 8 – 5 Suggested Bet – MONEY MAHER WIN RACE 2 Another small field which like the opener appears a tough race to assess. Settled on AMONGSTGOODCOMPANY who steps up to a staying trip for the first time. He hit the line strongly in a better class of race last start. VINTRUSIVE looks the leader. GOLGOTHA has shown he can stay. DELANTERO a chance with Pike on. Numbers – 6 – 5 – 4 – 3 Suggested Bet – AMONGSTGOODCOMPANY WIN RACE 3 HICOUNT worked home strongly on debut suggesting he has a future. This looks a weak maiden and if he improves off that run he goes close. TALITA was fair on her local debut. VITAL TOUCH has been solid all campaign and she should get a nice run from the draw. CYBERSPACE didn’t get much luck at York. Numbers – 11 – 4 – 10 – 13 Suggested Bet – HICOUNT AND TALITA RACE 4 STELLAR IGNITION broke his maiden with a soft all the way win at Pinjarra. He should find the front with ease again and make it back to back wins. MASSA MAC will get off the speed and work home solidly. SWIFTLY has place claims. PLATINUM POWER can breeze outside the stable mate and finish in the top four. Numbers – 1 – 8 – 9 – 5 Suggested Bet – STELLAR IGNITION WIN RACE 5 KARLAKEE MISS has more upside than these and should be too good. She showed plenty of ability in her first campaign and has trialled well for her return. From gate 1 she gets a soft run and can use the cutaway rail. DISCO RIRRIFIC is racing well and just needs some luck from a wide draw. SEATTLE STRYKER resumes from a spell off a soft trial. SECRET CHOICE will work home strongly. Suggested – 11 – 3 – 8 – 4 Suggested Bet – KARLAKEE MISS WIN SuperPick - Race 5 No. 11 KARLAKEE MISS - Profit Plus – 25% (Win) RACE 6 Wide open staying race. THE KARNUP KID should be nearing a peak run at his fourth run back from a spell. SUNSET SUPERMAN drops in class and Pike rides. COULEUR BIZARRE is in career best form. ROSEWOOD HILL was a strong winner in a similar race last start. Numbers – 5 – 8 – 1 – 3 Suggested Bet – THE KARNUP KID WIN RACE 7 MAXIMUS MAK should be able to find the front and give this race a big shake. His three runs this campaign all have been good and if he can control the speed he gets his chance to break a long winning drought. FREMOND is much more suited back to midweek level. DANCE MASTER improves second up and appreciates the drop in class. SKELLIG can win if he repeats his first-up effort. Numbers- 10 – 5 – 2 – 1 Suggested Bet – MAXIMUS MAK WIN RACE 8 Good finish to the day. REGAL CLASS broke her maiden with a narrow but impressive win at Bunbury. The blinkers go on and she can make it back to back wins. REVEILLE was a big debut winner at York. This is harder but she looks a nice type. LORENTINO looks the leader. BLACK SMUGGLER has trialled well since a poor first-up showing. Numbers – 10 – 12 – 3 – 1 Suggested Bet – REGAL CLASS WIN QUADDIE Race 5 – 1, 3, 4, 8, 10, 11 Race 6 – 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 8 Race 7 – 1, 2, 5, 10 Race 8 – 10, 12 Bet Now
