Greg’s Wednesday Ascot Preview Posted on February 22, 2017February 22, 2017 | Posted by Greg Hooper Greg Hooper’s Preview RACE 1 MR ALBY has been knocking on the door this campaign. He has missed a run since his last start at Pinjarra however if he is at his top he gets his chance. LA MOULINE makes her local debut. She is group placed in New Zealand. CLEVER DICK always finds the line strongly. CAYMAN BOUND is likely to go forward and keep battling away. Numbers – 8 – 11 – 7 – 2 Suggested Bet – MR ALBY WIN RACE 2 This is a nice two-year-old race. ARRUM BOY has looked sharp in his trials. Expect him to park right on the speed and be hard to run down. DEBELLATIO was heavily supported in betting on debut however he missed the kick and never got warm. He’s trialled well over 400m since. COME PLAY WITH ME looked strong in his trial win. REYKJAVIK next best. Numbers – 4 – 2 – 5 – 3 Suggested Bet – ARRUM BOY AND DEBELLATIO RACE 3 BATTLE TORQUE has been racing consistently all campaign without posting an elusive win. This looks a very soft race and from gate 2 he gets every mortal. BLUSTERY continues to front up and terrific efforts. LE SCHILLER is hard to catch but if he repeats his effort from two back goes close. SUNSET SUPERMAN next best. Numbers – 1 – 4 – 2 – 6 Suggested Bet – BATTLE TORQUE WIN RACE 4 AMALFI LASS worked home strongly first-up. She improves off that run and gets her chances. SHIBUYA CROSSING had no luck at Pinjarra and then pushed into a strong headwind last start. From gate 1 he gets all the favours. KINGDOM AND EMPIRE and JUST LIKE FIRE look the other two main winning chances. Numbers – 8 – 3 – 1 – 9 Suggested Bet – AMALFI LASS WIN RACE 5 MASSACHUSETTS has been a frustrating mare for the punters however she put the writing on the wall last start with a strong effort at Bunbury. She should get the favours from a good draw and go close. ZEFIRO is a new horse since changing stables. FERNGROVE ran well in a similar race last start. JUST LIKE FIRE was terrific fist-up. The wide gate is the query. Suggested – 6 – 1 – 9 – 2 Suggested Bet – MASSACHUSETTS SuperPick - Race 5 No. 6 MASSACHUSETTS - Money Back – Run 2nd RACE 6 SEBRING SPY was sound when resuming at Pinjarra. The senior rider goes on is a big plus and he can lead if Chris Parnham wants to. WATIJADOO broke his maiden in a dominant fashion at Pinjarra. He can go on with the job. CHECKERS is suited with the drop back to 1400m. CULVERIN will get off the speed and be finishing strongly. Numbers – 6 – 4 -2 – 1 Suggested Bet – SEBRING SPY AND WATIJADOO WIN RACE 7 AKIKO ran well first-up in the 3yo Magic Millions. This looks much easier and if she reproduces that fresh run she takes plenty of beating. COUNT TOMOZ OFF raced flat when resuming at Pinjarra. He can improve off that run and should appreciate the 1200m. ORANGE STRUDEL is drawn to settle closer than she has at her last couple. TOMOHAWK has claims. Numbers – 10 – 2 – 11 – 1 Suggested Bet – AKIKO WIN RACE 8 This is a very tough race to finish the program. FESTIVE EXCESS ran well fresh in a harder race. He can lead and give a big sight. ASSURANCE is a tough on speed type with a good strike rate. VANDEMONIAN has claims with a soft run. MAMA BEAR should be ready at her third run back from a spell. Numbers – 7 – 4 – 14 – 11 Suggested Bet – FESTIVE EXCESS WIN QUADDIE RACE 5 – 1, 2, 6, 7, 9 RACE 6 – 1, 2, 4, 6, 8 RACE 7 – 1, 2, 3, 10, 11 RACE 8 – 4, 7, 11, 14 [button class=”bet-now” style=”btn-default btn-lg” type=”link” target=”false” title=”Bet Now” link=”https://www.tabtouch.com.au/racing/2017-02-22/pr” linkrel=””]
