Greg’s Wednesday Ascot Preview Posted on December 21, 2016December 22, 2016 | Posted by Greg Hooper Greg Hooper’s Preview RACE 1 GENERAL HUSSON looks a special to start the day. He was super winning last week over this trip when leading and breaking his opponents’ hearts. He should find front again and win. BELTER was edged out a nice horse a fortnight back and looks the danger. HERRON POINT is a horse on the rise and comes off consecutive wins. OREGON BREEZE can improve off a lacklustre first-up effort. Numbers – 4 – 2 – 1 – 6 Suggested Bet – GENERAL HUSSON SuperPick - Race 1 No. 4 GENERAL HUSSON - Profit Plus – 25% (Win) RACE 2 DO YOU DO came off a three week freshen-up last start an ran well in a Saturday race. The rise to 2200m suits and he can either lead or breeze. PEGGY SUE was good in her first run for the Trevor Andrews stables. She’s still on the rise. TOPPA DAWOZZA is very hard to catch but this is the easiest race he has contested for a long time. SECONDMENT can grind away on speed and finish in the placings. Numbers – 4 – 8 – 2 – 5 Suggested Bet – DO YOU DO AND PEGGY SUE RACE 3 HELM’S GATE backs up from a good second last week over this trip. He can right on the speed and be hard to run down. GALAXY PRINCE can run a race fresh off a strong trial win. The blinkers go BAYATORIO. This is the easiest race he has contested for a long while. SCARLETT SPEEDSTER is a horse the rise. Numbers – 3 – 1 – 2 – 8 Suggested Bet – HELM’S GATE WIN RACE 4 GOLD SHIMMER should be box seat from gate 1 and with clear room he goes close. BANGALORE has trialled well and was a first-up winner last campaign. UNIVERSAL MOON improved out of sight last start with a strong on speed effort. If she can repeats that performance she goes close. DETANGO was a strong winner at Bunbury the drop back from 1200m is the query. Numbers – 4 – 8 – 9 – 10 Suggested Bet – GOLD SHIMMER WIN RACE 5 FAIRIE WHISPER looks a class above these. She has been racing well without a great deal of luck in some strong three-year-old races. From gate 2 she should get the run of the race and go very close. PRIME WITNESS was a little disappointing last start. She gets conditions to suit in this and is the one to run down. SWIFTLY will box seat from gate 1 and can run a place. THREESUN will be finding the line strongly. Numbers – 8 – 6 – 10 – 7 Suggested Bet – FAIRIE WHISPER WIN RACE 6 FORMULA won well at Bunbury. He’ll get off the speed off the speed so will need some luck from gate 2 however with clear room expect him to hard to hold out. BATTLE TORQUE backs up from a good effort last week. REGAL ROUGE is close to a win and will sit right on the speed. OUT TWO BOBS WORTH can lead and give a big sight. Numbers –1 – 3 – 5 – 7 Suggested Bet – FORMULA AND BATTLE TORQUE RACE 7 This looks almost a raffle to finish the program. TONKATUFF got the job done first-up at Bunbury and should improve with the rise to 1400m. MYTHICAL SAGA is another who comes off solid Bunbury maiden win. SKYLAR STORM will improve with the rise to 1400m. MISS MEIKA resumes from a freshen-up. She measures up off her form from last campaign. Numbers – 3 – 2 – 9 – 8 Suggested Bet – TONKATUFF AND MYTHICAL SAGA QUADDIE Race 4 – 2, 4, 5, 8, 9, 10 Race 5 – 6, 8 Race 6 – 1, 3, 5 Race 7 – 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 9, 12 [button class=”bet-now” style=”btn-default btn-lg” type=”link” target=”false” title=”Bet Now” link=”https://www.tabtouch.com.au/racing/2016-12-21/pr” linkrel=””]
