Greg’s Ascot Best Bets Posted on October 19, 2016October 20, 2016 | Posted by Greg Hooper Greg Hooper’s Preview RACE 1 SETTLERS CREEK looks a class above these. He was a big winner first-up and then ran a strong second behind a subsequent winner. He will park just behind the speed and should be very hard to hold out. BOMBER BAY finds it hard to win however this looks the easiest race he has contested for a long period of time. TYCOON TARGET put in a shocker last start. He is better than that and can improve sharply. RIGHT HONOURABLE is the leader. Numbers – 2 – 4 – 6 – 1 Suggested Bet – SETTLERS CREEK WIN RACE 2 WESTERN TEMPLE should get a lovely run from gate 2 and he gets his chance for his breakthrough win. Pike has selected over the stable mate which is a good lead. ONE WORD REVIEW finished strongly first-up. If he can get some room to move from gate 1 he’ll be hard to holdout. PETITE DANCER has been knocking on the door all preparation. AMALFI LASS can improve with the rise in distance. Numbers – 4 – 7 – 12 – 13 Suggested Bet – WESTERN TEMPLE WIN RACE 3 COLETA looks the best credentialed runner in this sprint. She won two of her three starts last preparation before being tipped out for a small freshen-up. She’s been tuned up with a soft trial effort. DELICATE MISS was good last week when being run down by the smart King River. She’ll lead and is the one to catch. SEATTLE STRYKER will box seat and has been racing well at the provincials. ASIAN LILLY gets back and will finish strongly. Numbers – 4 – 1 – 9 – 2 Suggested Bet – COLETA WIN RACE 4 ELLICAZOOM resumes with the benefit of two trials. Her debut in the Gimcrack was terrific before she failed on a wet track. From gate 1 she’ll get the run of the race and with clear room she’ll take some holding out. LEITFADEN appears the main danger. She got the job done fresh at Northam. She can improve off that run and looks the danger. I AM INCREDIBLE had no luck at Northam. CARNELIAN can lead and give a sight. Numbers – 9 – 1 – 4 – 7 Suggested Bet – ELLICAZOOM WIN SuperPick - Race 4 No. 9 ELLICAZOOM - Money Back – Run 2nd RACE 5 Tricky race with no standout chances. SECRET CHOICE got the job done fresh. From gate 4 he will get the run of the race and can make it back to back wins. ROUGHEAD was a strong debut winner at Pinjarra. If he jumps well and can settle on speed he can give a big kick. ROTH DA TOFF has been tuned up with two trials. GALAXY STAR has shown plenty of ability in her trials. Numbers – 3 – 7 – 4 – 9 Suggested Bet – SECRET CHOICE EACH-WAY RACE 6 BIG RED COSTA can improve sharply off his first-up run where he lumped 60kg and was ridden off the speed. From gate 1 expect him to settle much handier and the rise in trip will also assist. FERMENTATION is another who will appreciate the rise to 1800m. MISS MEIKA broke her maiden well last start. TAKE IT LIKE A MAN didn’t appear to be enjoy racing without cover at his most recent start. Ridden quieter he can improve sharply. Numbers – 1 – 4 – 5 – 2 Suggested Bet – BIG RED COSTA SAVE FERMENTATION RACE 7 ANDREINI put in a shocker last start when he attempted to buck early. He’s been back to the trials since and the blinkers have been added. CASH ON CALL is suited by the rise to 1400m. JASPARA is always capable at this level and if they are running on by the end of the program he’ll be hard to hold out. BJORN TO LOVE will be finishing strongly. Numbers – 3 – 4 – 2 – 6 Suggested Bet – ANDREINI WIN QUADDIE RACE 4 – 1, 4, 9 RACE 5 – 3, 4, 7, 9 RACE 6 – 1, 2, 4, 5 RACE 7 – 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 7 Bet Now
