Greg’s Wednesday Ascot Preview Posted on February 15, 2017 | Posted by Greg Hooper Greg Hooper’s Preview RACE 1 GOLDEN TRIGGER has impressed at both career starts and has trialled well for his return. He looks very hard to beat. UNCLE CON couldn’t muster any early speed on debut but did find the line well late. The visors going on hopefully can sharpen him up. PEARL TRADE trialled well. SUMMER’S DREAM met betting support on debut but failed badly. She can improve. Numbers – 1 – 3 – 6 – 8 Suggested Bet – GOLDEN TRIGGER WIN RACE 2 YEAH DARDY debuted in a hot maiden at Northam where he was caught wide and did a terrific job to finish on the heels of the placegetters. He’s trialled well and should give a big sight on the speed. COOL CULTURE looked quite sharp in a recent trial win and hails from the astute Jim Taylor yard. MERVYN was solid on debut at Albany. LUCKY LINDA LULU showed plenty of speed in a recent trial win. Numbers – 4 – 8 – 3 – 9 Suggested Bet – YEAH DARDY WIN RACE 3 Going for the 3YOs AT THE READY and KHAWAJA. AT THE READY worked home strongly at his attempt at a staying trip at Pinjarra and this doesn’t look any harder. KHAWAJA is screaming out for the trip. CRAFTY RED drops in class. He’ll settle off the speed and finish strongly. PLAIN VITAL is always a strong place chance at this level. Numbers – 4 – 6 – 2 – 7 Suggested Bet – AT THE READY AND KHAWAJA RACE 4 BOLD SUCCESS got the job on debut. He can improve off that run and he’s proved he can run out the trip. BOUNCE DOWN was a soft winner at Bunbury. The rise to 1200m is the query. DELLAVEDOVA should get the favours from gate 1. NICE GO has some ability Numbers – 1 – 6 – 3 – 9 Suggested Bet – BOLD SUCCESS WIN RACE 5 PREMIUM REWARD is still a maiden after seven starts however she has been knocking on the door at her last couple of starts. If Chris Parnham can blend into the race from a wide gate she gets her chance. LORENTINIO has looked quite sharp at the trials. MOSSTIARA was able to sit wide and win at her local debut. ORANGE STRUDEL will get off the speed and find the line. Suggested – 10 – 4 – 8 – 9 Suggested Bet – PREMIUM REWARD WIN RACE 6 BANGALORE looks very well suited with the drop back to 1000m. He should lead and take plenty of running down. STAR GLITTER is racing very well. He’ll park off the speed and looks the best of the closers. DISCO SMILE can run a race fresh. TWO SILVER TREES has claims. Numbers – 2 – 1 – 6 – 5 Suggested Bet – BANGALORE AND TWO SILVER TREES RACE 7 Very even race. FREMOND is racing well without breaking through for a win. From a good draw and on the minimum weight he gets his chance. SKY ATLAS wound up solidly first-up suggesting the mile will be ideal. HELM’S GATE is hard to catch but is always competitive at this level. MAKATIE’S KEEPER drops substantially in class. Numbers – 11 – 8 – 3 – 2 Suggested Bet – FREMOND WIN RACE 8 AWAKEN looks the banker for the quaddie. She was super impressive in winning on debut back in November. Her trial effort looked sharp and she should be too good for these. TOUCH OF SILVER looks a top place hope off a good first-up showing at Pinjarra. WANTED DESIRE will race handy to the speed. CLOCKER can be thereabouts for the first-four. Numbers – 12 – 3 – 14 – 1 Suggested Bet – AWAKEN WIN SuperPick - Race 8 No. 12 Awaken - Profit Plus – 25% (Win) RACE 9 Wide open finish to the program. ATLANTA BLUE is tracking along nicely this preparation and should be peaking at his third run back from a spell. This is a big drop in class from his last start. HARPOON has ability. She’ll go straight back from a wide alley however if they are making ground she can be in the finish. WESTERN TEMPLE has ability and Pike rides. BARRY’S RABBIT is racing consistently and without much luck. Numbers – 1 – 11 – 6 – 15 Suggested Bet – ATLANTA BLUE AND HARPOON QUADDIE RACE 6 – 1, 2, 4, 5, 6, 9 RACE 7 – 2, 3, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 11 RACE 8 – 12 RACE 9 – 1, 3, 5, 6, 11, 15 Bet Now
