Glenn Ingram’s Wednesday Sandown Preview Posted on July 7, 2026July 7, 2026 | Posted by Glenn Ingram RACE 1 A few first starters and weak exposed form. HERE’S MATILDA has jumped out very well on a heavy track at Cranbourne and was my pick of the debutants, the inner draw could be a problem as she hasn’t shown much gate speed. BLUE SHIELD the best of the raced brigade, he’ll go forward and give a big sight in front, this is the easiest field he’s met to date. DIAMOND EYE hit the line strongly in a deep maiden at Sale, looks ready to win for the Goodwin stable. GALACTIC GIRL can improve on the debut effort. Selections: 11,2,9,10 Suggested Bet: Exotics with 2,9,11 RACE 2 THE DEVIL IN HER is flying for the Payne train, now fourth-up returning from a long spell and only wound up late at the end of 1700m last start, now looking for a trip. She has conditions to suit. HARSH comes through a strong race in Adelaide last time out with the speed put on for the backmarkers, a good wet tracker and has C Williams to overcome a wide draw. TIMEONLEES is in the mix against her own sex, she went to 1600 – 2100m last start winning and should be better for the run, ZEYNO my pick of the fillies, lightly tried and open to further improvement. Selections: 1,2,6,7 Suggested Bet: THE DEVIL IN HER win RACE 3 Tough race. Key chances likely to get back in the run and/or coming off the synthetic tracks. Giving SECOND NATURE a blowout chance in an even bunch, has won third-up previously and is building nicely into the preparation. DRAGOON could take up the running in a race devoid of speed, that gives him each way claims. BLUESTONE needs a win, he’s been a model of consistency throughout his rcareer, not sure how genuine he is. SUNSETS is racing well, another needing a win. Selections: 14,4,2,1 Suggested Bet: SECOND NATURE 1 x 4 RACE 4 CASTLE ON HIGH is a classy animal and blew out at Flemington first-up returning from 36 weeks out, he does love heavy ground and can improve sharply second-up rising in distance. STONECOAT debuts for the new stable having raced in NSW previously, last seen in October last year, need a market push. SWEET JASMINE’S recent form is a concern, however, she is 2/2 on this type of ground and keeping safe. MALE MODE & SHOMA both have claims. Selections: 1,2,6,9 Suggested Bet: CASTLE ON HIGH 1 x 3 RACE 5 Deep race for a BM64, GLAM AWARD is a progressive filly and ran home well at Seymour at her Australian debut, the concern is she’s a month between runs, this stable do it better than most. BARKING MAD enjoyed a good run and let down strongly at Cranbourne to break maidens at his seventh race start switching to the Waller Melbourne stable. ROGUE WARRIOR and the filly ZUPPA INGLESE both have some quality and neither would surprise. Selections: 10,4,7,8 Suggested Bet: GLAM AWARD each way RACE 6 Another good race, the speed should be on early. The backmarker DONE LEAVY sets up well for a big finish dropping and coming wide in the straight. MISS LOLA is on the improve and was ridden to win here by Ben Melham when the money was on. BEAUTIFUL BEVY was backed into a short quote and never looked like losing at Ballarat Synthetic, this is much harder and more pressure up front expected. Stablemate GILDED LIGHTNING will be charging home. Selections: 13,7,11,9 Suggested Bet: DONE LEAVY 1 x 4 RACE 7 TENNESSEE BOUND looking to remain unbeaten, first-up did enough to win without being impressive. I suspect she will improve on the run and is again placed to win with an important claim engaged. DOLLAR SHOT was excellent second-up rising in class and generally improves into the prep, this is a good race but the barrier is sticky. EXTREMELY HARDY’S leaves the Waller stable for Price and Kent and looks ready to fresh, watch betting. STAGE N SCREEN will be thereabouts, does struggle to win. Selections: 1,3,5,4 Suggested Bet: TENNESSEE BOUND win RACE 8 Keen to see IN AND OUT again who made an impressive debut winning first-up for the new stable, formerly trained by Chris Waller, he’s been given time to get over and is a winning chance if he can repeat the performance. ARTBEAT returned to the winners stall at Cranbourne swooping from off the speed when dropping in grade, this is harder, has upside. MONGOLIAN GOBI is racing well for his new connections. The interstate visitor BESSIE LA BELLE is well-placed by a smart stable as one of the key speed runners and drawn to advantage, looks to have plenty in her favour. Selections: 14,12,6,13 Suggested Bet: IN AND OUT 1 x 3 Market Market
