Michael Heaton’s Sunday Kalgoorlie Preview Posted on June 19, 2026June 19, 2026 | Posted by Michael Heaton RACE 1 RADIANT LIGHT looks to have found his race. He’s placed at 6 of his 10 starts to date (including second to King Of Light, second to Dominatus, third to Ninetymilestraight and most recently third to Lady Money Talk). He’ll carry just 56.5kg after Natika Riordan’s claim and could even find the front in this field. RATTLE THE CAGE debuts off the back of a fast-finishing Belmont trial where he really caught the eye recently and the stable produced a debutant winner who’d also only trialled once beforehand at Northam on Thursday. ACCOUSTIC BUBBLES is going well for David Smith and is knocking on the door. BILLY THE BOSS wasn’t suited settling back on a slow tempo last week. He now draws a gate with winkers on and hit the line nicely over 1400m 2 starts back. Numbers: 1-5-6-4 Suggested Bet – RADIANT LIGHT WIN RACE 2 CAWARRA has returned an improved filly this preparation and whilst she’s placed only once from 11 starts to date, she’s going better than reads on paper. 2 starts ago she ran second to Busy Fingers (subsequent winner at Belmont on Wednesday) and last start she ran 3L fourth in an above-average Belmont maiden which featured Western Jet/Partay/White Hot. DIRECT DEBUT was very stiff when encountering traffic issues last start and ran a narrow second at his previous outing. Going well and is ready to break through. RULE THE REALM could find the top here and Austin Galati jumps aboard. RACY RASCAL a watch at his first start for Paul Tapper. Numbers: 8-3-2-4 Suggested Bet – CAWARRA WIN RACE 3 CALL ME FROSTY looks well above average. First up he rolled along and smashed the clock in a dominant maiden win at this track/distance, second up he was 28 days between runs and didn’t look as effective leading at a much slower tempo but still won by more than a length and he now backs up off 7 days , stays in the same grade and drops 2kg after Jason Li’s claim. He looks the winner again. VIRESHA was a great first run for Brett Drury’s yard when reeling off the fastest closing sectionals of the meeting to finish a narrow second to subsequent winner Spangledstar. He can position up a bit closer from the better draw here. DANCEWITHME maps awkwardly from the gate but is suited dropping back into C2 company after winning at this track/grade/distance 2 starts back. I’M GENEVIEVE has plenty of ability but was scratched with a hoof abscess last week. Numbers: 1-4-2-6 Suggested Bet – CALL ME FROSTY WIN RACE 4 RIVERCREST MAGIC turned her form around to cause an upset at her second start for Peter Fernie then finished off well to run fourth when dropping back in distance in this grade last week. She now backs up off 7 days, steps back up in trip and should be within striking distance of Monty Zoomer from her inside draw. MONTY ZOOMER is humming and a model of consistency but he’s off a double back up which could be a slight query seeing he was a beaten $1.80 favourite off the same lead up 3 starts back. JAYASHREE is 5 weeks between runs after going under at $1.55 last start where she got held up on straightening but she’s now drawn off the fence and gets a 3.5kg swing on Rivercrest Magic for only a 1L defeat. SECRECITY likely gets back from the gate but hit the line super to finish second to Monty Zoomer at this track/grade/distance at her last outing. Numbers: 8-1-5-4 Suggested Bet – RIVERCREST MAGIC EACH-WAY RACE 5 THE LIONS’ GATE scored an impressive win last start when beating High Precision by almost 2L at this track/grade/distance and then that mare came out and bolted in last week to more than frank the form. He now meets her 0.5kg better at the weights for a convincing win. HIGH PRECISION is a rising 9YO mare who is absolutely flying and her win last win was arguably her best to date so she’s showing no signs of training off. She ran all the fastest closing sectionals of the day to win by 2.5L, is suited by the extra 100m and her previous win last month was off a double back up which she’s off again here. DIEGO DYNAMITE has found the front and given a lot of cheek at his past 2 starts and looks the likely leader again. DOOR BUSTER was underwhelming as a beaten favourite last start and 1200m from an outside draw looks a tough setup for her. Numbers: 3-1-6-5 Suggested Bet – THE LIONS’ GATE WIN RACE 6 JUST FAMOUS has finished top 2 at each of his 6 Kalgoorlie starts and now drops back from a fourth placing in a Saturday Graduation at Belmont to this assignment. He should land in a suitable position midfield-with-cover and can prove hard to beat. SURE THING had to do a lot of work early in a very fast-run race last week and now draws a gate in a race he can lead in. He’s had a few runs now, Austin Galati sticks and he looks ready to produce his best. THE SHOWVINIST looks suited dropping back to 1100m and backs up off 7 days which he did when finishing a narrow second to the in-form Close At Hand at his previous outing. SATURDAY SESH maps awkwardly from the gate but has been going well in the metro area and is 1 from 1 at Kalgoorlie. Numbers: 5-6-7-9 Suggested Bet – JUST FAMOUS WIN RACE 7 ROYAL GUARDIAN is going great guns. 3 starts ago broke maiden status, 2 starts ago was held up for the majority of the straight and last start finished powerfully from near-last to win. She now stays in the same grade, the step to 1760m doesn’t look an issue and Holly Nottle sticks. IDEALLY is getting out to a more suitable distance now and gets a 1.5kg swing on Royal Guardian for only a half-length defeat last start. BLOOD BROTHER rises from 1300m to 1760m but his last-start maiden win was strong and he’ll enjoy a soft run. LANTA broke through after a clever stack-and-rack job by Austin Galati over 1630m last week and he should ride the speed again. Numbers: 4-2-1-3 Suggested Bet – ROYAL GUARDIAN WIN Quaddie (Race 4 – 7) 1,4,5,8 1,3,6,5 5,6,7 1,2,3,4,7 240 combinations Market Market
