RACE 1

Low race, many chances. BARBARINO need not be a star to make a winning debut, shown he can forward and or sit take a sit and finish off his work at the end of his jumpouts. Middle draw, may go forward. MELBOURNE MAGIC has been a costly conveyance firm in the market in all his runs to date. This is his easiest assignment to date. CACCHIONE was good first-up off 35 weeks and sure to strip fitter again, all favours from the draw. SILVER LIGHTNING has ability, staying at 1200 a query.

RACE 2

BOURNE LEGACY debuts for A & S Freedman having trialled twice in Sydney, looks a straightforward 2YO with a good action, easy to like in this field. VEGA VIXEN will have a start on the Freedman, this filly has alot of natural speed and will be competing with RUBARE who led throughout here last time beating a moderate field. Both stable & jockey in form and has the prized inside draw. BALGOWNIE has good speed and should take her a long way having trialled well this campaign.

RACE 3

RICH DOTTIE is in the right grade and race to be winning first-up after jumping out well including a trial at this course. Long time out of the winners stall, she maps to sit off a fast speed and hitting the line best. SALUTED is drawn to be competitive, she also resumes, three jumpouts, been in a work a while and fitness should be no issue. CAVALRY GIRL has been flying at the jumpouts, goes forward from out wide. MAGNABELLE ROYALE is fit and racing well.

RACE 4

Penny has dropped for PULA shaken off the non-winner tag her past two starts with excellent wins at Pak and here last start going out in trip. Staying at 1800m is the slight knock from a bad draw with pressure from the inside. GATES can improve into this weaker race, going just ok but there is speed on and should be strong late. LIKE A TIGER raced well without luck and was tough winning third-up at the ‘Bool, this no stronger. Minor chances to DRUTHERS and SUPERSTOCK.

RACE 5

FARAWAY DREAM is extremely fast and whip across to lead this field at a good clip from BOONIE and JUST BOLTS who’ve drawn soft. Best of the closing bunch is ROYAL FLARE a well-bred gelding discarded and bought online last campaign, he was impressive breaking his maiden and then narrowly defeated in a C3 at Ballarat. Jumpouts suggest he’s forward to return. DELICATE LADY is a sharp improver second-up down in grade, inconclusive return, right in this.

RACE 6

GWEN’S GIRL was supported fresh at Warnambool drew wide and was exposed a long way out, brave but no match for the winner coming off her back. She maps to get an easy lead if ridden with more intent second-up. YUUKI gets the drop in behind the speed runner and that saw her winning at Swan Hill last start, come back well this campaign. PRICE TAG is another mapping for a soft run in behind, been back to the jumpouts since winning at Cranbourne, another suitable race. Bedggood runner HEY KELINE MAUS has a wide draw, hurting her chances.

RACE 7

NEARING LIBERTY is well-placed first-up for trainer Matthew Brown. Scratched from a meeting last week, he draws a perfect marble, is good fresh and a strong rider in Ben Melham to get the best out of him. VIVACISSIMO is looking to consolidate her good second-up record after a solid return at Bendigo. Another drawn to strike. They look the two key chances. Wider hopes to THE DEVIL IN HER who has jumped out well, would prefer a wet track and LARIO looking to complete a hat-trick.

RACE 8

PER SEMPRE has come back in great form for Charles Cassar, flew late here over 1000m fresh then had the race shape against second-up on a relatively quick back-up, there is forecast showers around and the more the better for this mare with the speed on to suit. MR MAHJONG draws for a soft run in behind the speed, looks ready to show something third-up into the prep. KA YING CHEER was ok in a much stronger race last start, a welcome return to BM70 grade aided by the claim, in the mix.

BARBARIC LAD trialled well and generally improves second-up also a winning chance.
