Matt Young’s Saturday Bunbury Preview Posted on April 2, 2026April 2, 2026 | Posted by Matt Young Race 1 EXPRESSING (2) has plenty of early speed and only had the one run when fourth behind some nice types including the unbeaten Seaside Serenade, expecting her to bounce on the bunny here and be hard to catch. URSULAS WISH (4) trialled well against Fore Shore who was a debutant victor, this filly looks to be talented and suited in this grade, expecting a bold performance. THE SEA COMMANDER (6) improved nicely off the first up effort and must be respected even from the wide draw. ILIKEITLIKETHAT (1) is well bred and has a nice draw but looks a place hope with UMA KARINA (3). Tips: 2 4 6 1 Suggested Bet: EXPRESSING (2) to win. Race 2 SKYHIGH ADDA (5) made a fair splash in her first racing preparation last time in, you would imagine will be better for the break and reload and expecting her to win on return but will likely be quite short. IN FULL FLIGHT (6) trialled up well and ran away with a nice win, has shown promise and looks a genuine top 2 player with LIVY ANN (8) who can be a funny horse but last start when driven with a sit she went top class, will be running on strongly again. Back-end novelty chances to LADY CRUNCH TIME (4) who has come on well for Corey Peterson. Tips: 5 6 8 4 Suggested Bet: 5/6,8/6,8 to Trifecta. Race 3 AMERICAN TYPHOON (3) looks the likely leader and should charge across early and be very hard to run down at the mile, think she will win. THE ULTIMATE BEACH (9) will run on and was solid last time out, can mix form, AGENT ANDY (6) is racing well but faces a tricky draw, looks a novelty chance with SUGAR BOO (2) who has drawn well, and KARAOKE STAR (5) trialled okay, could be an improver here. Tips: 3 9 2 6 Suggested Bet: AMERICAN TYPHOON (3) to win. Race 4 BROUGHT TO LIGHT (10) had no luck on return and flashed home into a distant fourth, will be better for that run and to be honest I think he is a class above this field and should win with a leg in the air. SKIPPIN CLASS (6) is a big chance to zip across and run to the lead early and thought his last run was encouraging, expecting a podium finish for the gelding. ELEPHANT ROCK (9) didn’t have much luck last time out and looks a place to novelty chance with CHALKY WHITE (1), SWITCH BLADE (4), IM EUGENE (11) and TOMMY PRICE (7) who is poorly drawn. Tips: 10 6 9 7 Suggested Bet: BROUGHT TO LIGHT (10) to win. Race 5 Open stand event. BLAMEITONTHENIGHT (9) was solid in his fourth 3 starts ago at Pinjarra in very good time, had a freshen up into a sound fifth at Gloucester Park in metro company before the race wasn’t run to suit in a midweek race, I think he can be saved for one run and could be too quick for them here. LUKES MISTAKE (4) could prove the testing material as he hit the line better on Tuesday and is a chance to run to the lead. EN PARIANT SUR (1) is a step or two below his best currently but can step well. AKABAH (3) has elevated but steps up in grade and distance and faces the tapes, few concerns in this. GEE SMITH (7) is consistent and not without claims and DAMAGE DONE (5) is a novelty chance as he improved last run and can continue the upward trajectory. Tips: 9 4 1 7 Suggested Bet: BLAMEITONTHENIGHT (9) to win. Race 6 DIAMOND BAY (7) looks suited in this grade, and I am expecting Chris Voak to terrorise them in this race, likely to be up outside the speed and can try and punish them. ALLIZEE (2) is fair dinkum flying, the mare crushed them last time out in good time and will be looking to bounce on the bunny and give them something to catch. ARTISTIC SCRIBE (6) is a consistent performer but faces a wide draw. LOVE DEVINE (4) racing well but this grade looks more challenging and BLOCKJORG (8) could improve in a race that will suit her tempo wise. Tips: 7 2 6 8 Suggested Bet: DIAMOND BAY (7) to win.
