Michael Heaton’s Sunday Geraldton Preview Posted on March 27, 2026March 27, 2026 | Posted by Michael Heaton RACE 1 RULE THE REALM ran second in a C1 at this track/distance last start and now drops into a maiden with senior riding Tash Faithfull jumping aboard. He’s versatile in his racing pattern and this looks a nice race for him to be able to break through in. Stablemate SNEAKY SESSION hit the line well to finish third in the same race 2 starts back and was beaten only 4L by God’s Cross/Desert Waves/Can’t Catch Me earlier in the campaign. She was a bit plain last time out but happy to give her another chance. LOONA DAWN has been a long time maiden but hasn’t been far away lately. She looks the likely leader but that might not be the place to be if the forecasted wind conditions arrive. TRIPLE AR trialled up well enough behind Free To Fly to run a race on debut. Numbers: 2-8-6-5 Suggested Bet – RULE THE REALM WIN RACE 2 JUST PETTY CASH looks hard to beat. She placed at her first 2 starts back then was ridden cold from a wide draw at Pinjarra last time out and hit the line strongly to be beaten only 2.5L in a far superior race to this. Meryl Haryley and Laqdar Ramoly are a great combination to follow when they head to Geraldton. EN COSTA DE MONEY caught the eye when making good late ground last start and the step to 1400m now looks ideal. IL BELLO BEATA is a 21-start maiden but is rarely far from the finish and will settle prominently in the run. KALLAHTI produced his best performance to date last start and should be doing his best work late again. Numbers: 11-4-1-3 Suggested Bet – JUST PETTY CASH WIN RACE 3 LEONARDO DA GREY was a super run first up at Ascot when bursting through late to run the fastest closing sectionals in a metro 60+. He was beaten by Urquharts Bluff/So Si God/Lucky I Am/Earth God and this is a massive drop in class to a Geraldton C2. He had a great campaign when last in work and looks a horse with upside in this region. SOUTHLAND is a nice type resuming and is undefeated 2 from 2 first up. UNDERCOVER SNIPER ran very well first up and looks the map horse here. SALVADO was yet another winner for the red-hot Tony Scally yard first up and Tash Faithfull sticks. Numbers: 1-2-4-7 Suggested Bet – LEONARDO DA GREY WIN RACE 4 GOLD KEEPER has raced in higher grade at 13 of his past 14 starts and has finished in the placings at 11 of them. He might need some luck from a tricky draw but he’s a remarkably consistent horse in Geraldton and apprentice Jefferson Tsang rode him well when finishing second to star local galloper On The Mark in a 70+ at this track/distance 2 starts back. SPARKLE CORNER is another honest gelding who makes his own luck and is racing in good form. DEEP DISCRETION will settle near-last but he’s been reeling off big late splits lately can still win. ENTICING has been good at his first 2 starts back this preparation. Numbers: 1-3-7-9 Suggested Bet – GOLD KEEPER WIN RACE 5 BAYHARA returns to Geraldton after a solid effort behind the in-form The Jester’s Son at Ascot last start and was a track/distance winner at her previous outing. She should enjoy the right run here and Tash Faithfull appears to have elected to ride her over some other options. HARD QUESTIONS has been solid at his first 2 starts back from a freshen up and now gets out to his preferred distance. He’s a former heavy track winner and gets into this nicely after the claim. BOMBAY STYLE is another former heavy track winner and is versatile but he’s yet to win past 1650m. BUTTERFLYROCK didn’t get much luck last start and will appreciate the rise in trip. Numbers: 2-4-1-3 Suggested Bet – BAYHARA WIN RACE 6 HEWILLDOUS has been slow out at 5 of his past 6 starts which is a natural concern but he’s been sectionally very good at his first 2 starts back at Ascot this campaign. He’s now drawn better in a fair easier assignment, has won 2 of his 3 starts at Geraldton and with a cleaner getaway he should be hard to hold out late. THE RUSH did it tough from a wide draw last start but maps much more favourably for Holly Nottle here and was a winner at this track, distance and grade at his previous outing. CATERAN is up in grade and has the dreaded bar plates going on but he’s been going great runs and looks better suited dropping back to 1400m whilst also dropping 4kg. CANTILEVER was a big winner when knocking off Cateran last start and gets a better run here. Numbers: 2-3-6-4 Suggested Bet – HEWILLDOUS WIN RACE 7 ARCHENEMY broke maiden status in nice fashion 2 starts back then was a hard watch last time out when finding all sorts of trouble in the straight. He’s going very well for new trainer Meg Forrester and with even luck this time around he can bounce back. CRAMPIN’ MY STYLE appears to have undergone the ultimate gear change in being gelded since his last start (poor fella) and each of his recent performances have had merit. Have to respect anything Tony Scally is saddling up at the moment. PRINCE EPAULETTE joins the yard of Meryl Hayely and whilst he has to lump 61kg, he bolted in on a soft-6 last preparation and looks well placed in this company. KLEVA CONNED was a lot better at Ascot last start and will find this a bit easier despite the awkward draw. Numbers: 2-5-1-14 Suggested Bet – ARCHENEMY WIN Quaddie (Race 4 – 7) 1,3,5,7,8 1,2,3,4 2,3,4,6 1,2,5 240 combinations Market Market
