Scott Embry’s Tuesday Bunbury Preview Posted on November 2, 2025November 1, 2025 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 MALAGARASI steps out for the second time in his life and goes immediately to 1705m. Thought he trialled and raced like a horse who simply needs ground and even being 4 weeks between runs you just trust Grant & Alana Williams to have him fit and ready. GRAVITY DEFYING was luckless on debut. He was three back the fence following 2x 100-1 pops and got dragged back whilst the other made their runs down the middle. LOVE OF FAR FA was bitterly disappointing last start when sent out a $2.80 favourite and beaten a whopping 41.6L. Trainer Josh Krispyn reported his belief that the mare may have choked down and so he has applied a tongue tie here. BRITISH BONNIE next. Numbers: 6 – 7 – 3 – 9 Suggested Bet – MALAGARASI WIN RACE 2 RECONNAISSANCE looks quite a nice type. Beat home Ladies Pro (debut winner) by nearly 2L at Lark Hill down the back straight in June and then raced the older horses on the Fibre Sand in one single run last campaign when a beaten even money favourite. Trialled really well over 400m and finds a winnable race. Has avoided Boutique Belle and that’s a huge win in itself. PERFECT SCORE still won’t be an easy beat, she’s from the in form Peters-Grantham-CJP combination and her 930m back straight trial suggested she had plenty of ability. Fearful of her. SWEET ISSY finds this easier than her first-up run and drops weight too. MAMMA SAYS SO was an encouraging trial. Numbers: 1 – 9 – 6 – 8 Suggested Bet – RECONNAISSANCE WIN RACE 3 BOUTIQUE BELLE looks the reason that CJP isn’t riding at Ascot on Melbourne Cup Day. He’s loyal to the Cerise and White and they’ve headed to Bunbury to attack the maidens. This filly was actually super on debut after settling last on a day where it was near impossible to make ground at Belmont Park. Blinkers on means business. Can only hope she somehow opens in black figures and then we attack. APACHE ADIOS has shown ability from time to time. Finished within 2L of Stakes winning filly Deel Her In and caught the eye last start from a mile off them at Northam. TAKE A LEAF has only been seen publicly once and trialled well behind Common Touch. Only 51kg after the claim too. MAGIC CARATS will pinch one this prep. Numbers: 9 – 6 – 11 – 3 Suggested Bet – BOUTIQUE BELLE WIN RACE 4 PUBLICISE was $13 into $6.50 in a 3 year old Plate on debut at 1400m and after missing the step never looked like. Dropped back into a 3 year old mid-weeker at her second career outing and led them to the 100m before being swamped. Long Service Leaf won out of that race on Wednesday and she’s now back to an All Age Maiden with only 54kg. Great race for her. RED ZED is drawn wide and might be forced to conceded them a decent head start. LONG LAUGH showed versatility last start when going back over 1000m from a wide draw. He’s knocking on the door and getting very close. EXTREME RULER is 1400m back to 1200m mid-prep which is probably not ideal but he’s trying hard. Numbers: 11 – 7 – 2 – 1 Suggested Bet – PUBLICISE WIN RACE 5 CAPRICIOUS RULER was given a push by Grant Williams in a pre-race interview on debut and the punters launched her from $7 into $3.60. She didn’t really fire a shot but in the Stewards Report rider reported that the mare got her tongue over the bit during running. We’ll trust the push and the volume of money that came her way and follow up here. NONEOFYOURBUSINESS ran fourth in that same event and beat her home by over 1.5L. As long as she can overcome the tricky draw she’s a danger. WHO’S TALKING took 600m to find the top after working far too hard in the early stages. Did a good job to still finish fourth. PURE SILVER may need to really burn to get across in the capacity line-up. Numbers: 8 – 12 – 6 – 11 Suggested Bet – CAPRICIOUS RULER WIN RACE 6 SKYTALKER was a horse with a huge amount of ability but a frustrating career record when trained by Indiana Weinert. Heads across to Michael Grantham and hopefully that move can see him go to the new level. It’s no knock on Indi – Smooth Chino / Late Arrival etc etc does a great job, but Michael Grantham’s team have been matching it with Team Williams in recent months. Different gravy. BOSISTO has a senior back on, has shades on and is probably the kind of horse who is better drawn off the fence too. FIRE THE LOT is one from one undefeated and it would be rare for Michael Lane to have a team in at Bunbury and not train a winner. SKY GOD next best. Numbers: 1 – 3 – 2 – 7 Suggested Bet – SKYTALKER WIN RACE 7 ZIPPY ZANY looked to have skipped clear at Northam on Cup Day until the daunting shadow of William Pike and Think Pink Daze descended upon her with 50m to go and grabbed her in the shadows of the post. There’s no Think Pink Daze in this line-up and after the Holly Nottle claim she drops 2kg. Looks a good race for her. GALWAY SHAWL was a highly impressive maiden winner here at Bunbury on debut and then wasn’t disgraced in a C1 with some depth at Belmont. SHAMILIAN MISS is a lightly raced mare with a turn of acceleration. She can work her way through the grades this prep. ROSIE CAN RUN can also sprint well fresh. Numbers: 1 – 4 – 3 – 7 Suggested Bet – ZIPPY ZANY WIN RACE 8 RUNFORROB finally broke a long run of outs at Bunbury in a C3 1685m two starts ago and then was tested in Saturday company when racing outside the handicap and finishing second last beaten nearly 7L. Back into his right grade he can bounce back. SNIP OF GOSSIP won a C3 1300 first-up at Belmont beating dual subsequent Saturday winner Wembanyama. Didn’t handle the unique style of Toodyay Racing second-up and then third-up pulled up with excuses after being backed into near favouritism. Be forgiving. INVINCIBLE RUBY might just be wanting ground now. SIROTA placed in a C3 mile fresh last prep. Numbers: 6 – 5 – 2 – 4 Suggested Bet – RUNFORROB WIN Market Market
