Scott Embry’s Thursday Bunbury Preview Posted on November 13, 2024November 13, 2024 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 POLYVANOVA and ANTZ PANTZ BABY both come through the same 1600m maiden at Northam last start behind Fight In Flight and they both now step out a further 75m. With a better barrier draw and Lucy Fiore returning to the saddle going to stick with ANTZ PANTZ BABY who looks like she’ll get even more ground in time. POLYVANOYA probably lead for 1595m last start. She’ll again bounce on the top and be there for a long way. COVENTY REEF comes back in distance and reunites with Joey Azzopardi. Deserves to win one. VIRIKAH looks a staying type of mare. Numbers: 11 – 9 – 1 – 8 Suggested Bet – ANTZ PANTZ BABY WIN RACE 2 LONG GENES looks to have found the perfect race at his third WA outing. Raced effectively this distance/grade last start at Northam on Cup Day when just unable to reel in capable leader Outspoken Lad and should be at his peak now. Drawn to stalk behind Canggu and that’s position A. CANGGU is on the 4-day back-up from York Sunday. Gets a senior back on and gets weight relief. CANNY JACK is good enough to pinch this at his best. Seems to prefer to find his feet rather than being ridden close handy. MEGAMI has shades on and a rider change. Numbers: 2 – 4 – 7 – 1 Suggested Bet – LONG GENES WIN RACE 3 AUTHORATIVE made a late run at $1.40 favourite Universal Hotness at Bunbury on Cup Day and narrowly missed. Drawn to get an even better run here and there doesn’t look to be any standouts in this like there was last start. Has been racing consistently well since joining Tara Itzstein. LADY TREMAINE has the two most popular changes in WA racing: blinkers – on, Pike – on. Has shown glimpses this preparation. HOT LIKE CHILI will appreciate more ground later in the campaign but is still a genuine threat here. IN YOUR CORNER hasn’t had a lot of room to move at trials or on race day. Think there’s something there. Numbers: 2 – 5 – 6 – 12 Suggested Bet – AUTHORATIVE WIN RACE 4 ENCHANTED MISS makes her debut off the back of a strong trial win. She has improved at each and every one of her three trials this time in and she should get the right run on debut. Few handy types in this so she’ll need to be ready to rock and roll but trusting the in form Donna Riordan yard to have her primed. PRECIOUS GOD ran a belter on debut from a mile off them. Drawn far better here. ANNIE WARBUCKS is drawn woefully but could not have trialled much better. Was cruising from a long way out. KARNUP QUEEN was a bizarre run on debut. Hopefully the gear changes are exactly what she needs. Numbers: 9 – 5 – 7 – 6 Suggested Bet – ENCHANTED MISS WIN RACE 5 FAST HARRY was winding up strongly in his most recent trial when he was able to get past Our Shillayleigh (second on debut and races Wednesday at Belmont Park) and is drawn to get a lovely run behind the leaders on debut. Team Williams, William Pike, we’re not likely to be spoilt in price but this is a nice starting spot for him. Still wants to lay in and may do things wrong but looks above average. RANYX is the half-brother to sharp stablemate Objectify and stuck on well once tested in his recent trial. SURF PATROL was a late scratching in the barriers last start and has been back to trials successfully since. HYPERREAL powered to the line late most recently. Numbers: 9 – 10 – 8 – 2 Suggested Bet – FAST HARRY WIN RACE 6 ROMMING DANGER trialled nicely behind King’s Honour over a fast 950m at Lark Hill and then went to a 60+ Graduation to start her campaign when settling a mile off them in a race that was dominated along the fence-line by Regal Statue, Richanco and Right To Silence. Back sharply in grade and drawn to get a lovely tow ball run. LA DETTE found 1000m too short fresh. Better suited here. DREAMTIME JEAN had genuine excuses on the Goldfields last start. Forgive and forget. HOW PRETTY is double accepted for Wednesday and Thursday. Numbers: 1 – 5 – 2 – 6 Suggested Bet – ROMMING DANGER WIN RACE 7 LETHAL WEAPON was well found in betting last start and pulled clear for an emphatic near 3L victory in really good time (5L faster than maiden average). Natural query on the form with Lien Hyphen a long time maiden but this mare looks progressive. ROCKING SOCIETY resumed over 1600m and ran well behind Pond Master when narrowly edged out over the concluding stages. Should only improve for the run and provided he isn’t shuffled back along the fence he should prove hard to hold out late. AMAZING CHEAT better suited here. DIAMOND TIPPED was luckless last start. Numbers: 5 – 1 – 3 – 8 Suggested Bet – LETHAL WEAPON WIN Quaddie (Race 4 – 7) 5,6,7,9 2,8,9,10 1,2,5 1,3,5,8 Market Market
