Scott Embry’s Sunday Broome Preview Posted on June 28, 2024June 28, 2024 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 THERMOSPHERE LAD should be too good for the maidens in the opener. Given one run by Cooper Casey at Northam when covering plenty of ground behind Rocking Gem and still holding on for second, and with Canny Rock breaking his maiden at Belmont on Wednesday the form stands out. Kept out of trouble think he’ll be too good. ORTABEAROCKSTAR looks the danger care of the fact that she’s go the speed to lead. ALOTTA DANE was well supported at big odds on debut and ran well. THE LYRICIST is trying hard. Numbers: 1 – 6 – 3 – 8 Suggested Bet – THERMOSPHERE LAD WIN RACE 2 HIDE THE OREOS was really well supported last start when running a game second to current horse of the year prospect Dark City. Given 22 days to get over that run and provided he can get across from a tough draw he’ll be in the finish. DIEGO DYNAMITE should be ready at his fourth run on the dirt. Has improved at each and every outing and now finds a race where he can lead. Danger. KALGAN and PRIVATE SAPLING are both last start winners who should be winning a C1 throughout the back end of the season given what they’ve produced so far. Numbers: 7 – 1 – 2 – 3 Suggested Bet – HIDE THE OREOS WIN RACE 3 MR CONFIDENTIAL was ridden for speed last start by Snaggers Sardelic and it paid dividends. Expect they’ll be nice and aggressive again here with him and he’ll look to set a strong pace and out grind them. NOBEL KNIGHT finds his way up to Broome with Mick Duffy and on his day he’s got enough speed to kick through and lead this race and if he did hold the top he’d take running down. On the other hand if he’s crossed it’s a tough dirt debut with a face full of kickback. DEEL OBTAINED wants further but got through the dirt well. UNO ME is always there abouts and gets Tash Faithfull. Numbers: 6 – 2 – 4 – 1 Suggested Bet – MR CONFIDENTIAL WIN RACE 4 DEEP POINT has won his last two in C1 and C2 company and maps to get every favour close handy here as he looks to go for three on the bounce. Just So Sassy will lead this running if they so choose – nothing in this field can go as quick as her but she normally stops at the 200 so expect Deep Point will present right place, right time. DISCO DONUT has gone better with each run on the dirt but the barrier means he’s going to have to cover plenty of ground again. JUST SO SASSY can burn but would probably prefer a Carnarvon 1000. ROSE OF DENMARK is also speedy. Numbers: 3 – 4 – 9 – 5 Suggested Bet – DEEP POINT WIN RACE 5 RED REBEL is going super in Broome this season. He won first-up beating subsequent winners Lucky Landing and Let’s Sea (x2) and then second up was only run down late by Acefire when stopping the clock 4L faster than 58+ average. Likely to be a case of shop early as the times punters tend to get heavily invested in these types. ALBERT was good at his first run in Broome and Jim Enright is able to sneak him back in grade. ROMMEL’S JEUNEY is a smart purchase for NW racing. Just concerned he gets crossed by Red Rebel. ROEY CLAM wants further – big watch later in the season. Numbers: 3 – 1 – 9 – 8 Suggested Bet – RED REBEL WIN RACE 6 ACEFIRE returned in a blaze of glory and looks the kind of animal who can work his way through the grades in Broome and even potentially be a threat in a Pearl Classic type of race later in the season. Was first-up, no trial off a year and carried 60kg to run past Red Rebel in a blistering time. Sets him up nicely for this dropping 5.5kg. APPLE SCHNAPPS should be ready third-up and is the proven 70+ commodity. Deserves plenty of respect. NO CHANGE can work his way to near the top and from there gives cheek. GAMBLER’S GOLD will keep improving into the campaign. Numbers: 7 – 2 – 3 – 5 Suggested Bet – ACEFIRE WIN RACE 7 LET’S SEA went from an ugly watch to a brilliant watch in the space of 400m as Jess Gray navigated her way through heavy traffic to score. Stepping out to 1600m, looking to record a third straight win and only rises half a kilo here taking on a similar level of opponent. Going great guns. HEAR MYPRAYER is ready to win now. Second to Reginald last start in a race where they went track record time and now drops back into a 58+. Jess Gray goes with Let’s Sea and so will we but no surprise to see the stablemate beat him. VEVINSKY will soon find a race he can lead and control. LAUTRE going well. Numbers: 1 – 3 – 2 – 6 Suggested Bet – LET’S SEA WIN Quaddie (Race 4 – 7) 3,4,9 3 2,7 1,3 Market Market
