Race 1

THAT’S NOT MY GAIT (7) has to overcome the 80m handicap and I am not in the game of tipping horses off such handicaps, but she was brilliant after making a rare error last start in making up ground and finishing with them in a stronger trotters event and in good time. The distance suits her and she’s a wonderful stayer, hard to beat. SELLUNE (4) has had his fair share of opportunities, another winning chance again today. BONNIE RAE (6) does her best racing when on speed, look to be aggressive early after catching the field. THE HONOURS (2) is a place hope. LINE THE STARZZZ (8) mixing her form but is capable of making up the handicap for novelty purposes.

Race 2

KIA ORA LOU (3) caught the eye with her closing speed on debut at Gloucester Park, looks suited to the middle distance and has decent ability, expecting her to run well here. MAJOR MIKI WHITBY (5) was very good winning last week, he lost his momentum before the sprint lane but then took off to win impressively late, go well again. WRITE RITE RIGHT (2) ran up behind a wall late on debut and can improve again here. HOT HAND HORROR (1) ideally drawn to place. NOBLE THORONDOR (7) appears a genuine staying type as a 2yo and will be running on well at the middle distance.

Race 3

ATLAS THE TITAN (6) is a progressive type who is developing nicely into the preparation, he can do work in his races and am expecting a strong performance from him today. WORLD SECRET (1) trialled up well before a return from her freshen up, she is wonderfully consistent. TUALOU (5) trialled well ahead of his WA debut, should be kept safe. TAXI IT IS (3) will be chasing a hot speed and I think that could suit her, place chance. ARIONROCK (7) is one for the early quaddie as if they over do it, he will be powering home.

Race 4

BILLYJAMES (3) put the writing on the wall last time out that he is ready to win and he gains a start here today and looks the testing material, he has early speed and in a race with not a lot of exposed form he should be going very close. DISPATCHER (4) looks suited to the short course race and won’t be far away, value. MANGO TANGO (7) has been doing the hard yards recently and should be primed to finish in the money again. SPIRITOFANANGEL (8) was disappointing last start but expecting a better version of her here, she is never far away.

Suggested Bet: BILLYJAMES (3) to win.

Race 5

ESCAPEFROMREALITY (3) is a 17 start maiden and is expected to come up short in this race, she is first up for Aiden De Campo and her recent efforts have been better, has early speed and can win but she might be too short. SUGAR BOO (1) should be fitter for the first up run and performed well on return, thought she was the better betting option here from the draw and looks to have ability. EBEE AVIATOR (6) trialled well after a long time away from racing, will be running on well. MARLEDIE (2) did enough on debut to suggest a novelty chance here.

Suggested Bet: SUGAR BOO (1) each way.

Race 6

HI SUGA RUSH (7) drops in grade and is impressing as a race horse. He has high speed and toughness to boot, looks the winner here. SCUTTLEBUTT (4) has good early speed and think we can overlook the last run, his record at the lightning lap has been good and think he will run a cheeky race here. RECOVER LOVER (8) is racing well but they have been driven conservatively, she is still capable of a strong finish from back in the field here. SWEET DUNCAN (3) is going ok and is a novelty chance with the returning REG LAWSON (5)

Tips: 7 4 8 3

Suggested Bet: SCUTTLEBUTT (4) to place.

Race 7 

MADAM PUBLISHER (1) has returned in sparkling form, she hasn’t been extended in her two wins and both runs have seen her finish off in good sections, she has good speed early and looks very hard to beat here. RATTLIN LILLY (3) is always impressing from the breeze and looks like she will have to again today, will be staying on strongly. CHAMPAGNE EVERYONE (4) has the ability to throw a spanner in the works early with that gate speed, her two runs back have had merit. SECRET REACTION (8) trialled well enough to suggest a novelty chance on return. CASTELLA DELLACQUA (6) is a nice type with the draw against her but has come back well and will be running on well.

Suggested Bet: MADAM PUBLISHER (1) to win.

Race 8

VENTURA (8) has been freshened up for this race and is a very talented type, expecting him to position up close enough and be quite dangerous but there is a hint of vulnerability to his chances. MAJOR FREEWAY (2) gets the good draw and if he can hold the early challengers he will be mighty hard to beat. HEAVENLY WAGE (6) has not missed a place since the inception of the lightning lap races and comes in fresh here, a must for novelties. ME FLASH (4) won impressively at his last run at this track/distance and if he could find the top he would be dangerous. DONTBESILLYCHILLI (7) will find this easier and she is a knockout chance. Good competitive race.

Suggested Bet: MAJOR FREEWAY (2) each way.

Race 9

STREET HAWK (6) returns and has an abundance of ability, he was finding it hard to win in metro grade late last preparation and looks suited here on return. CALLMEWHATUWANT (1) was successful at his only standing start appearance, he followed that up with a good 4th doing plenty of work, expecting a strong performance from him. PAROQUET (5) has had one standing start and she blew it early, the performance after was outstanding but she needs a safe getaway, she has returned in wonderful form. TROUBLE SUPREME (3) has the speed early to play a part and can get into a good spot, novelty prospects.

Suggested Bet: CALLMEWHATUWANT (1) each way.

Race 10

IDEAL WHITBY (1) caught the eye last run and has the ideal draw and looks a strong each way chance to close out the day. LOMBO MITCHINSON (5) has the superior form from last preparation but has had a stable change and trials have been sound without exciting, he looks somewhat vulnerable on return. ISAIDBOO (2) is perfectly drawn to run into the money, he is racing well. MAJOR CORRIDA (7) also racing at the top of his game, will be running on strongly. THEYCALL ME STOOGE (3) will not be far away, he is going well. CLASSNSMART (6) & MAGIC EYE MICK (8) have proven their worth in short course races but draws appear tricky.
