Scott Embry’s Sunday Kalgoorlie Preview Posted on May 10, 2024May 10, 2024 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 ELUSIVE DREAM has been a tease across multiple preparations but thinking that the Dreamtime Jean / Bronte’s Dream maiden is the strongest form reference in this line up and he was luckless when held up for clear running on straightening. One more chance? JUSTINIAN was a strong trial and makes his WA debut for Gary Bowen who can produce them fresh. Looked good behind Abloh in that trial and he’s nearly a Saturday horse so you must respect the trial form. LACIE ACE has her first start for Helen Harding and was often popular in betting in the metro area with Neville Parnham. SECRET ATTIRE has had a lot of chances across a few stables but she has shown ability on occasion. Numbers: 1 – 2 – 7 – 5 Suggested Bet – ELUSIVE DREAM WIN RACE 2 ONLY US is an intriguing maiden galloper. He ran a ripper on day over ground off a 24 hour back up (Ryan Hill things). He was produced first-up no trial down the 1000m straight recently and attacked the line hard. Still not sure whether he’s a sprinter or a stayer (or if he’s any good!) but willing to find out in a country maiden like this. FLYING THE FLAG ran second to Dublin Red last start and that’s easily good enough to win here. BAYRAKTAR ran well last start at huge odds in the same race. ARAFISIO has shown glimpses at trials and races in the metro/provincial area. Has a few quirks. Numbers: 3 – 2 – 4 – 6 Suggested Bet – ONLY US WIN RACE 3 ARCADIA JEWEL drops back in grade after going around a $3.50 chance in a 58+ race that contained It’s A Lance, Kallaroo and Deel Red. Ended up wide from the 1400 after striking a bit of trouble and was a good run into fourth all things considered. Beaten under a length in a 58+ makes her hard to beat in a C2 after the claim. STYLE DIVA was impressive winning on debut and looks like she’ll eat up a mile. DUBLIN RED comes out of maiden grade but looks capable of making the step up in grade. CAPTAIN ROGERS had a few minor excuses behind Kelly’s Li Za Lu. Numbers: 1 – 8 – 5 – 2 Suggested Bet – ARCADIA JEWEL WIN RACE 4 RED CADILLAC has returned in excellent order this preparation. Thought the first-up run over 1200m would be too short but she really savaged the line behind subsequent Saturday metro winner Treasured Queen and then with a touch more luck on straightening last start she gets past stablemate Dance Of Thunder. Confident she can turn the tables here and pick up a deserved win. Love the way she’s going. DANCE OF THUNDER is hard to miss in the run. Looks in for a great preparation. COUNTER DRIVE can bounce back if leading. SO LIKEABLE will be winning races on the Goldfields this campaign. Numbers: 3 – 2 – 1 – 4 Suggested Bet – RED CADILLAC WIN RACE 5 CALIFORNICATION made an impression at his first preparation for Paul Rowe. This is a great starting point for him – especially if he can make his way through to the Final at Belmont Park in the near future. Nice animal. ABLOH won the Sky Provincial Series Final at Belmont Park this time last year and should he qualify here from a wide draw then he’ll be hard to beat again you would think. Great trial, lightly raced and seemingly still room for improvement yet. Will need luck here though. Good clash. NODUSTONEME has turned back the clock and is racing like a 3 year old again. HIDDEN RUBY has come back to racing in great order. Numbers: 3 – 1 – 2 – 7 Suggested Bet – CALIFORNICATION WIN RACE 6 DUNBAR scored well last start over a horse who a fair few punters had a crack at last weekend at Asco in Talk It Up. Has been a bit of a noted nonny throughout his career but hopefully with his confidence back he can put two together because this is very winnable from an ideal barrier with an ideal map. VINYL was a real X-Factor horse last preparation. Should have won a lot more races after running into some serious traffic on occasion. GLUTEN FREE is normally there abouts. KICK A GOAL SON will keep improving into the campaign. Numbers: 7 – 11 – 4 – 2 Suggested Bet – DUNBAR WIN RACE 7 DREAMTIME JEAN won like a horse who could work through the lower grades on the Goldfields. Was dominant late in that maiden and after the claim for Chanel Cooper looks to get in with a winnable weight again. Don’t think there’s much between the top 3 – 4 in this and looks a chance of going back to back. WITCH STREET wasn’t too bad first-up when caught deep and happy to follow that Kelly’s Li Za Lu form through. LOOPY’S BABY should take great benefit from her first run at Kalgoorlie and is drawn to get all the favours. CELESTIAL FOX has been really popular with punters since arriving in the region but yet to fire. Numbers: 1 – 8 – 6 – 3 Suggested Bet – DREAMTIME JEAN WIN Quaddie (Race 4 – 7) 1,2,3,4,7 1,3 2,4,7,11 1,6,8 Market Market
