Scott Embry’s Thursday Pinjarra Preview Posted on April 2, 2024April 2, 2024 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 DEMONSTRATION (like all the maiden stayers) can turn it up from time to time but he has shown a bit here and there. Second in a 2000m maiden back in December, second again in January and then was only 1L off Olajuwon/Kinellins Legacy and then 2.6L off Simply/Rocking Society. Senior rider back on and another very weak line-up. CANDLELIGHT SHERRIF looks like going round favourite. He’s getting closer and closer to a maiden win but was beaten fair and square in a maiden handicap at Narrogin. SAMURAI WARRIOR is up 800m at only his second career outing but does look a real one paced staying type. SKITTISH heads back to maiden grade after a couple of C1s recently. Numbers: 2 – 3 – 8 – 1 Suggested Bet – DEMONSTRATION WIN RACE 2 RED TORI and MORE THAN ENUFF are both first-up for SJ Miller and no doubt a lot of opinions will be divided on which way to go, especially with senior rider Brad Parnham on More Than Enuff and stable apprentice Cassey Martinan on Red Tori. Like the RED TORI trial behind Malkar Pindari and expect that she’ll land in a prominent position throughout and make her presence felt at her return to racing. MORE THAN ENUFF was beaten a big margin in his trial but Lindens Gold did break them open and win by a margin. ELBOW LOUNGE has had a 74 day freshen. Honest type. TAK GOES BOOM can go well fresh. Numbers: 23 – 2 – 1 – 5 Suggested Bet – RED TORI WIN RACE 3 COSMIC ECLIPSE makes her debut for Grant & Alana Williams and with William Pike’s recent return from injury you can imagine she’ll be popular with punters who have been waiting for the return of the Wizard. Has won two of her four Lark Hill 950m trials and finished second on the other two occasions. Nicely drawn in the middle of the line and looks to have ability. HANOI MISS was really impressive in her trial when never asked for an effort at any stage. She’s drawn to get a gun run over the top of the speed. STRYKERS GAL ran into sharp maiden Lombadina on debut and improves off that. DUG ANOTHER HOLE finished third behind Strykers Gal last start. Numbers: 13 – 14 – 6 – 1 Suggested Bet – COSMIC ECLIPSE WIN RACE 4 VALDARENA returns to the races and has always trialled like a mare with ability. She’s now won three separate 1000m Belmont trials over multiple preparations and she should get every favour from the good barrier at her return. ALIEN CLOVIS goes from 1800m back to 1600m back to 1300m as they try to figure out this quirky maiden. There’s a level of ability there and he’s got a really attractive racing pattern and you’d have to suggest his best run in WA was over 1400m behind Alaskan. TRUE PLAYER has only had the one public trial over 950m when a narrow third under stable apprentice Chanel Cooper. Take on trust. FINAL TRADE ran well first-up. Numbers: 9 – 2 – 8 – 7 Suggested Bet – VALDARENA WIN RACE 5 KINGS HONOUR is a real jump and run type. Run down on debut by Siberian Siren after kicking clear on straightening and was immediately tipped out for a spell. No surprise he’s won a 950m trial leading into his return and expect that Jarrad Noske will be on a mission to find the outside fence. BOUSSAC trialled really well recently under Chanel Cooper in the same 950m heat and she rides him on race day taking 3kg off his back. Big respect. DEEP DISCRETION was only beaten 1L on debut and it’s David Harrison down the straight. Tick. JAZ SESSION ran well on debut, trialled well recently and has a nice wide draw. Numbers: 3 – 5 – 12 – 11 Suggested Bet – KINGS HONOUR WIN RACE 6 PRINCE RAGNAR was simply too quick for them last start and gave Chanel Cooper her first winner in the saddle. With her 3kg claim expect they’ll ride him in an identical manner – jump, find the outside fence, run and see whether anything can get past him. Love a 1000m straight leader. CAPRE OMNIA is double accepted for Ascot Wednesday and Pinjarra Thursday. He looks a genuine Top 2 contender regardless of which race they go to. Nice WA debut. SUNNY HONEY has raced in almost exclusively Saturday company over the last 18 months. SQUILLIONARE gets the right run against the outside rail. Numbers: 3 – 4 – 1 – 5 Suggested Bet – PRINCE RAGNAR WIN RACE 7 CRIMMO like the stablemate Capre Omnia in Race 6 is double accepted for Wednesday Ascot and Thursday Pinjarra. At his WA debut he finished third behind Simply Thinkin (races Wednesday) and Truly Awesome (races Wednesday) and if either (or both) of those gallopers were to go well Wednesday and he was to scratch to save for this he’ll get increasingly popular in betting. DIVINE INANNA was too strong for them at Geraldton last start. Steps out to 1400m but can lead and control again. LIEUTENANT DUNBAR deserves to get some luck this prep. JUST FOR MARCUS has proven himself on the grass. Numbers: 3 – 1 – 2 – 8 Suggested Bet – CRIMMO WIN (IF STARTING) Quaddie (Race 4 – 7) 2,4,7,8,9 2,5,8,10,12 3 1,3 Market Market
