Scott Embry’s Thursday Pinjarra Preview Posted on March 13, 2024March 14, 2024 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 FIRM TALK trialled really well at Belmont Park over 1000m and went straight to the races when finishing third behind Bondi Plunge and On A Winning Day who has since run a luckless third at Pinjarra down the straight. Better for the race day experience, drawn well in barrier 3 and had to push through seriously heavy traffic to make his run on debut. Like him in this. GRACE ROSE was woeful first-up. Has been back to trials since and she’s much better than what she displayed fresh. Must forgive and forget. FIRE THE GUARD looked to have found an ideal race at Geraldton but couldn’t quite get the job done. Miff Muffered Moof has won again since at least. MARBLE GOLD makes her WA debut off a nice trial win. Numbers: 3 – 8 – 2 – 5 Suggested Bet – FIRM TALK WIN RACE 2 ALL VITAL was scratched at Bunbury recently and now appears first-up at Pinjarra over 1200m from an ideal barrier draw. Loved his recent trial when sneaking through late and thought it was every bit as good (if not better) than Spectacular Park who is in this race. Gets a soft run close handy to the speed and looks to have some ability. DUBLIN RED makes her first-up return with a set of shades re-attached. She’s got great race form to her name and has trialled fairly. SPECTACULAR PARK ran well first-up for Ike Racing and should only come on from that effort. ONLY EYES FOR HIM has had a long time off but trialled well. Numbers: 3 – 8 – 1 – 2 Suggested Bet – ALL VITAL WIN RACE 3 MASCHINO MOON won a Lark Hill 950m trial back in September 2023 and went to the races in market on debut at Bunbury when no match for Run Pattie Run. She’s resuming here in typical David Harrison fashion (singlet, boardies, cap and thongs…) – first-up, no trial, 1000m straight at Pinjarra. She’s drawn the outside fence and you just have to follow his horses when they race down the straight. JUST SAINT JAMES looked good in his recent trial win and Rob Gulberti is another who has a handy strike rate up the straight. Goes with the senior rider too which is usually an indicator. RISEANFALL has excellent race form and the speed to overcome the dreaded barrier 1. PIN DEEP ran fairly first-up. His trial was super. Numbers: 11 – 3 – 5 – 1 Suggested Bet – MASCHINO MOON WIN RACE 4 PULL THE TRIGGER was $2.10 into $1.55 last start at Ascot over 1800m and for anyone who launched into the shorts they’ll not want to watch that replay any time soon. He was held up the entire length of the home straight and never got a crack at them at any stage. Went to the line under a hold and now he’s out to 2000m as he again tries to break his maiden. We go again? WHAT SHOUT will pinch one of these staying races at some stage. She will again look to sneak away from them at the 600. Be a fun mare to follow in Broome! TRIO kept whacking away last week in the same race as Pull The Trigger. ROCKING SOCIETY was well found in betting last start and came again in the last 200. Numbers: 5 – 10 – 6 – 7 Suggested Bet – PULL THE TRIGGER WIN RACE 5 MY HIDDEN UNIVERSE was backed as if unbeatable last start and he is likely to meet with even more support here considering the sectionals recorded last start in defeat. He ran the first 800m 10L faster than average and then somehow was still there with 50m to go when swamped by Duke Of Wellington and Wayne The Pain. They’ve stopped the clock 5L faster than maiden average and he set that speed. He’ll jump odds on again. PANDORA GIRL has flashed ability from time to time and on the fresh side can hopefully hold a spot from a favourable draw. BRAZEN EMPRESS is drawn awkwardly. Yet to reproduce the run behind Call Of Duty. DANCING RUBY looked handy at trials. Numbers: 2 – 8 – 12 – 13 Suggested Bet – MY HIDDEN UNIVERSE WIN RACE 6 Michael Grantham pair DARK MISSILE and CITINO finished alongside eachother last start in a 60+ Graduation at Ascot over 1800m behind Icebergs and Filthy Habits. Both come back in grade, both rise 3kg in weight and clearly there’s not much between them. Thinking that DARK MISSILE can park behind the moderate tempo likely to be set by BRING THE BLING and from there he presents at the right time. CITINO will be getting back and looking for something to take him into the race. BRING THE BLING just got the job done at Albany and then scratched from Sunday’s Ladies Bracelet to save for this. HE’S ARCHIE ran well last week. Numbers: 1 – 2 – 4 – 3 Suggested Bet – DARK MISSILE WIN RACE 7 ACHICI VUOLEMALE returned to the straight last start and was a big improver first-up to second-up. Only faded out late and that was in a C3 behind straight track specialist Magnalee and Run Pattie Run (races Wednesday at Ascot). Sneaks back into a C1 and looks hard to toss. KRYSANOVA is a jump and run filly who just wants to get it over and done with. They’ve tried many times to get her to settle but in the end she looks like she’s going to be her own worst enemy. 1000m straight, let her run and look for the outside fence. WICKED VENOM was beaten at odds on first-up but still ran well. MRS KANGAROO is trying hard. Numbers: 2 – 1 – 3 – 9 Suggested Bet – ACHICI VUOLEMALE WIN RACE 8 MAMA TEMBU is not an easy mare to catch but she’s very well placed here. Six of her last seven have been in 66+ company on a Saturday and now she’s dropped back into a C5 and Brayden Gaerth takes off 2kg. She’s finished less than 3L off Petula in a Pearl Classic, less than 1.5L off Thehorseman on a day where it was tough to make ground and looks really well suited in this. EXCELTRAIN is another who looks well placed into this C5 1300. He’s got 59kg on his back but he’ll get every favour from the draw sitting up over the speed. HESKET was a revelation for the new yard when last in work. 7 week freshen. FOREST WAR gets a soft run and while not winning is consistently there abouts. Numbers: 3 – 1 – 2 – 6 Suggested Bet – MAMA TEMBU WIN Quaddie (Race 5 – 8) 2 1,2,4 1,2,3 1,2,3 Market Market
