Scott Embry’s Thursday Pinjarra Preview Posted on August 16, 2023 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 QUEEN NARDI trialled like a filly who would get out over ground. Her first run left a bit to be desired but her second run was visually outstanding. She charged to the line in the final 200m and looked to be screaming out for more distance. She gets that here and with only 53.5kg on her back should be hard to hold out. SECRECY has been one paced all preparation. Continued to grind away behind Prophet And Power last start and only improves for the staying experience. WHO’S ME DADDY is a bit of an enigma. His best is handy. WOUNDED TROOPER an improver at odds. Numbers: 10 – 3 – 1 – 5 Suggested Bet – QUEEN NARDI WIN RACE 2 SEVEN IRON was strong on debut. Had a few minor excuses and yet still got to the line really strongly behind a horse who has excellent race form in Hymns Of Ellidair. That gelding had run second to the now undefeated Flash Max and then was able to get the job done at only his second outing. Happy to follow that as the form reference. PETROUCHKA makes her debut off the back of a pair of solid trial performances in April and again in August. She’s well related and we’ll see the strength of that trial form through stablemate Brazen Empress on Wednesday. BHULLAR ran well on debut. FLY WITH CAUTION trialled well. Numbers: 1 – 9 – 8 – 2 Suggested Bet – SEVEN IRON WIN RACE 3 DON’T TRUST JUDAS put the writing on the wall at his first outing for Grant & Alana Williams. Absolutely savaged the line from an impossible position in running and sectionally was awesome. They went quicker in the maiden than the C1 on the same day and expect he’ll take a power of beating with Pike going on. He can win a few this prep. LOVA SESSION will be winning a maiden in the near future. Not entirely sure what her best distance is though. CAMPFIRE JACK really got going late last start. Draw hurts. THE MIGHTY BUTCH is consistent but doesn’t have a real knockout punch. Numbers: 6 – 11 – 4 – 2 Suggested Bet – DON’T TRUST JUDAS WIN RACE 4 AIR TIGHT was a great run on debut. Went around 150-1 which is always a concern when following up at their next start – did the market completely miss her or was it a flukey run? Willing to find out considering she’s got the straight 1000 experience and is trained locally. Drawn on the ‘right’ side another huge help. PACIFIC LADY was well thought of in a pair of runs in her intial preparation. LINDEN’S GOLD has shown ability in a couple of barrier trials. Keep safe at odds. JUST SO SASSY is very quick. Numbers: 11 – 13 – 16 – 10 Suggested Bet – AIR TIGHT EACHWAY RACE 5 KAMARSHALL is a straight 1000m specialist. When on song she’s a really high quality straight sprinter and all of her good form is at Pinjarra. She goes great fresh and from the barrier she can get herself towards the outside fence. Plenty to like about her at her return from a freshen. MY BABY BLUE JEAN and BOPPING BLUE are both 1000m straight horses who have speed and can get across into commanding positions. ROCAPOZZENE should go well and brings really nice form for this grade of race. Numbers: 9 – 6 – 1 – 8 Suggested Bet – KAMARSHALL WIN RACE 6 HYMNS OF ELADDAIR and MISS AVA both look the kind of animals who should be able to work through their grades. Fully expecting that Don’t Trust Judas will go close to franking the Miss Ava form in Race 3 and Seven Iron going close in Race 2 to frank the Hymns Of Eladdair form. Siding up with HYMNS OF ELADDAIR who can work up over the speed, but very respectful of MISS AVA and her turn of foot. ZOOROPA has shades added to gear and there’s been a bit of money around for him all preparation. Should be about ready. DIAMOND TIPPED brings intrigue at his WA debut. Numbers: 7 – 4 – 3 – 6 Suggested Bet – HYMNS OF ELADDAIR WIN RACE 7 SPIRIT MAN showed more than enough in his initial preparation to measure up in this. There’s plenty of speed through Jelly Can Run, The Coolakin King, Stormy Tawny and Simply Rosso so provided he steps cleanly with the shades on he should be able to punch through into a prominent position. Open and even race, one of many hopes. STORMY TAWNY has her first start for Grant & Alana Williams. Showed in her first race preparation that there’s plenty to work with. LAQUETTA’S GIFT is a consistent mare who should enjoy a soft run. GALAXY CAT has been a model of consistency. Numbers: 4 – 11 – 3 – 1 Suggested Bet – SPIRIT MAN EACHWAY Quaddie (Race 4 – 7) 2,10,11,13 1,2,3,4,6,8,9 4,7 1,3,4,11 Market Market
