She resumed over 1300m when finishing 3L off Zouboltz, Lil Bird Told Me and Bill Selects. Good form for an Alban maiden. Winkers on a key gear change. A lot of these maidens have been whacking away all season so we’ll put our focus in on two newcomers. The other is WARRAEA DIAMOND who ran home well in an SJ Wolfe trifect behind Penned and Looks last start. The step up in trip really looks to suit. DEADLY AND FAST was moderate at Narrogin. Prior form in the Great Southern appeals. ROHRZUCKER sat on top of the speed last start going from 1230m to 1600m and was there for a long way before being run down by Scenic Strike. Numbers: 12 – 7 – 2 – 11 Suggested Bet – IDENTIFIER WIN RACE 2 LOOKS is a work in progress. He still wants to get his head up, he still wants to pull and go faster. Thinking that from the 1100m starting point that SJ Wolfe and Jarrad Noske may just let him roll in this and play a bit of catch me if you can. At some stage they’ll stop trying to fight him. MOVING ON was very well supported at odds last start and the punters were clearly onto something. Very few horses settle 10th on the corner over 1100m at Mt Barker and get within a head of the leader. Long time maiden but knocking on the door. CITY MISTRESS trialled well for her return. AUTHORATIVE has his first start at the races. Most recent trial was clearly his best. Numbers: 5 – 1 – 12 – 7 Suggested Bet – LOOKS WIN RACE 3 BONNIE LAD is making his way through the grades nicely. He was given a 12/10 last start by Brayden Gaerth. Very few claiming apprentices would have worked their way into that gap and he was rewarded with the win. He carries the exact same weight here after the ZJP claim and can make it three from three this campaign without surprising. MILLIVOY comes through the same race and it was one way traffic in betting. It was his first outing since December 2021 so you can expect a fair deal of improvement. Drops 3kg after the Rosie Mahony claim and will park up right over the speed. Logical danger. PENNED broke his maiden in style last start. GETYOURMONEYANDRUN is well placed into this grade. Numbers: 2 – 3 – 5 – 1 Suggested Bet – BONNIE LAD WIN RACE 4 KOHLI has been a different animal in the care of Rebecca Bayliss. Has had a freshen and trialled super for his return. His Fitzpatrick and Mt Barker Sprint form stand out for a race like this. Big chance the Railways Premiers and connections are smiling for a photo in the Albany Advertiser. SNEAKY FOX is always popular in this preview. He continues to go to the races, continues to hold form and continues to go close in his races. He dropped back into a 58+ last start in a great piece of placement by Roy Rogers and didn’t let the punters down lumping a full 62kg to victory. Gets back down to 57.5kg here and is drawn to enjoy the run of the race. Chris Nicoll rides him well and see no reason why he won’t show up yet again. ISOLA BAY and LITTLE PUNGA are both high speed gallopers. Numbers: 6 – 4 – 5 – 7 Suggested Bet – KOHLI WIN RACE 5 TREVELLO looks suited sneaking back into a 58+. He finished third in this grade three starts ago behind progressive mare God’s Moment before heading to a pair of 70+ races and a heat of the Sky Provincial Series. From the draw ZJP can have him parked midfield with cover and provided he doesn’t get too far out of his ground he has one of the better turns of acceleration in this line-up. Nice race for him on paper. STAR SOPRANO finished second over 1300 and then second over 1230m to Catch These Hands. Forgive and forget last start on a Soft7. THE WITCH DOCTOR again ran well last start out of her weight division in town. She’s been in form for months. ST JOHN returns to Sam Faithfull. Handy horse for the region. Numbers: 1 – 8 – 6 – 7 Suggested Bet – TREVELLO WIN RACE 6 LET HER BOOGIE showed a bit of potential in a C2 mile at Albany two starts ago and then headed back to Perth where she went around in the WA Oaks over 2400m. Only beaten 6.5L She’s Fit, Bernbrae, Admiration Express and Megami. If she has handled the testing preparation she should run well here. DIVINE MERCY was targeted in betting at his return to racing and poor Digital Miss was under serious pressure to try and go with him from the 600 in the race at Barker. He put the pressure on, cornered strongly and then put her away to win by 2L. Rises up 3.5kg here and 600m which is an ask but he’s clearly come back well. KUTSANYA can be hit and miss but his recent form is good enough to win this. POWERFUL FORCE finally pinched one last start after running consistently for Cliffy Green. Numbers: 3 – 1 – 2 – 6 Suggested Bet – LET HER BOOGIE WIN RACE 7 DOUBLE DIGIT may just be hitting form at the perfect time. He went to the SW Autumn Cup last start and ran out of his skin to finish only 6L off subsequent Pinjarra Cup quinella Casino Seventeen and No Apology. He now finds himself in the Albany Cup and in 7 days time there’s the Geraldton Cup. He’s going to be there abouts in both and he looks to be finally be back to somewhere near his best. TENA KOUTOU no doubt has been targeted at the Country Cups series. First-up when into a 72+ 1800 behind Weaponson, Birdieagle and Ciscojoe. He’ll have plenty of admirers. HEAPS OF MOOLAH is hard to run down once he finds the front and Beaux Edwards has ridden him with success previously. BIG SWOOP is another tough on speeder. Numbers: 2 – 1 – 7 – 5 Suggested Bet – DOUBLE DIGIT WIN RACE 8 RECALLED trialled well when parking three deep throughout at Lark Hill and proving too strong over 950m. He was the run of the race first-up behind Starring Knight when held up at crucial stages and flashing home late. He is a momentum horse so the fact he was able to show a sprint late in the race suggests he’s in for a big campaign. BENTLEY BEAU won back to back C2 races in style and then has been honest at his next two outings finishing second to subsequent Saturday 3 year old winner Catch These Hands and then second to Scream In Blue. Back to 1500m potentially a query? ELITE FIGHTER is always a top 3 chance in this grade. ROCK OF KAHA has won his last two strongly. Numbers: 5 – 1 – 2 – 6 Suggested Bet – RECALLED WIN Quaddie (Race 5 – 8) 1,2,5,6,7,8 1,2,3,6 1,2 1,2,4,5,6 Market Market
