This is a pretty thin old 52+ and he gets his chance to show up fresh and run a cheeky race. TALKING HEADS finally broke through for a deserving win last start at Narrogin. Got away from them impressively late. WORK HOME FRONT had her first start for Donna Riordan and was simply too quick. Interesting to see whether she runs out a strong 1200. THEWAYIWALK ran well at York first-up last campaign when almost knocking off The Witch Doctor. Numbers: 1 – 3 – 5 – 6 Suggested Bet – LINDRAM WALTER WIN RACE 2 DARK LOOKS lead them up last start and was run down by Yonga Lass and subsequent maiden winner Manhattan Strip. Nice form for a York Maiden Handicap on a Public Holiday Monday and Troy Turner rides these circuits (York/Narrogin) as well, if not better, than anyone. ADELANTE was well found in betting at odds when racing over 1200m behind Talking Heads. Looks more a 1500m horse so the extra trip suits. BONNIE THE RULER is a small filly who has shown glimpses from time to time. SKITTISH next best. Numbers: 4 – 3 – 7 – 6 Suggested Bet – DARK LOOKS WIN RACE 3 IT’S A LOVE STORY makes his debut for the Tiarnna Robertson yard and the recent trial at Belmont was excellent. Usually when the maidens break 1 minute they’ve got ability and with the blinkers go and into a maiden handicap at York it looks a similar set up to Stormy Tawny last month – trying to get his career off to a flyer. FIRST CONTACT raced at York when second to Stormy Tawny. Loomed large and couldn’t quite run out the 1200m. Back to 1100 here a bonus. SHOOT TO FRILL has trialled alright and gets the 1.5kg claim of Luke Campbell. WINNING PIA is a head scratcher. Numbers: 2 – 6 – 8 – 9 Suggested Bet – IT’S A LOVE STORY WIN RACE 4 CIVVY STREET is only 1 from 19 but he has been very consistent over the season and has run into some bad luck and deep races in fairness to him. Last start in a C1 he absolutely flew late at Stormy Tawny and prior to that he went around in a C5 as equal favourite behind Famous Jurney. This looks very winnable for him from the perfect draw and in a field where a few may just be looking for further. ENSIGN PULVER was stiff last start. Never really got a crack at them. He’s racing well. TIFF’S LAD broke his maiden first-up so can sprint well fresh. MARZIPAN LAD will look to jump and run. Numbers: 3 – 7 – 6 – 1 Suggested Bet – CIVVY STREET WIN RACE 5 QUEEN TIFFANY should be able to battle on in this for a long way. She broke her maiden under ZJP at Geraldton only two starts ago at 1100m beating a subsequent winner in Ouqburra. Last start she went to a C1 at Pinjarra and finished 4L off Rusty Dreams (races Saturday) and Deep Envy (races Friday). This 46+ is a nice assignment for the speedy filly. RAKIURA caused a boilover at York two starts ago. This can be a horses for courses surface so the fact that she appreciated the York style of racing is worth plenty. RISING COMMODITY comes through sprinting races with far more depth than this. FOXY SON was unlucky not to pinch one last preparation. Riddled with bad gates/maps. Numbers: 3 – 1 – 4 – 6 Suggested Bet – QUEEN TIFFANY WIN RACE 6 PRANCING IN MILAN will get back but provided she doesn’t have any serious traffic issues to navigate she should run well. Blinkers go on, drops back to a 46+ and her recent runs after breaking maiden status have been encouraging. Continues to loom and not quite finish off. Thinking the downhill run home may just suit a mare like her. ENGLISH BAY has her third start for Boy Hill. Last week she went straight past Sea Waif at the 600 and was left a sitting duck. Fit and comes back to 1300m. Beware the quick back-up and booking of Troy Turner. LUCIE MANETTE is going better than numerical form suggests. HEARTLY is better than what she showed last week. Numbers: 2 – 6 – 4 – 7 Suggested Bet – PRANCING IN MILAN WIN RACE 7 MISS EUGEN was a tough watch at Geraldton last start. Looked to have plenty in the tank when she went to the line completely untested. Barrier 1 and leader’s back at Geraldton can be a poison chalice and she never saw daylight at any stage. 3 weeks later she strikes a very winnable race at York and the form through Mountain Ash, Birdieagle, Awesome Chatter in her previous Westspeed Platinum reads up really well. JOLLY LACE is a last start winner at York in the Rose of York. She was scratched last Friday over 1720 to save for this 1500. Big danger. I’M NOT FOR SALE showed two starts ago he loves York racing. SHOTGUN ROCA was a big improver last start. Numbers: 6 – 3 – 1 – 7 Suggested Bet – MISS EUGEN WIN Quaddie (Race 4 – 7) 3,6,7 1,3,4,6 2,6 6 Market Market
