Scott Embry’s Saturday Pinjarra Preview Posted on December 30, 2022December 30, 2022 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 RULER ROCKET looks to get punters off to a flyer on the New Year’s Eve meeting at Pinjarra down the 1000m straight. Was well supported on debut in a 3 year old 0MWLY when finishing second behind Swim Thorugh. Given a freshen, back to trials for another impressive win and strikes a maiden without a lot of depth. Think he’ll be simply too fast and powerful for these. OREGON HIKER hasn’t been seen since being a late scratching on December 4th. Has trialled nicely. NITRONIC is drawn the ‘wrong’ side of the straight but has shown glimpses and been down the straight previously. MAKE MINE SUPER wasn’t disgraced in a very quick 1000 behind Rock This Town on debut. Numbers: 3 – 6 – 1 – 4 Suggested Bet – MAGIC WHISTLE WIN RACE 2 PENNIES GALORE finished 4.7L off Defiant Diorite, Crystal’s Dream and Magnalee first-up, 5L off Rear Admiral (winner of three from three) second-up and then only 1.3L off Work In Progress last start. This is clearly the weakest and thinnest maiden she has seen to date and she should take full advantage of the lack of speed in this and position up close handy. Best winning chance she’s had in her short career. FLUER DELACOUR ran around in 2 year old and 3 year old company when last in work. Her trial form behind Ruler Rocket could well be enhanced after the first. RUBIROCK has his first start in WA without a trial and gets a soft run. FARAWAY BAY was a nice trial. Numbers: 7 – 8 – 1 – 9 Suggested Bet – PENNIES GALORE WIN RACE 3 ARID was big behind Feels Playful in the Westspeed Platinum when tramping wide throughout and still running an impressive fourth. Shaun McGruddy jumps off Salary Man to side up with Arid and he’s got some upside. SALARY MAN sat leader’s back behind Feels Playful in the same race and got left flat footed when the filly went for a sprint into the corner. If he can work across and find the front under Jason Brown he looks like he can give cheek. KING HALLOWELL got around heels and let down sharply to win a trial before running a solid race on debut behind Boots Like Bruce in a race dominated on speed. MARRI MARTINI has run into some nice types so far this preparation. Numbers: 9 – 1 – 3 – 8 Suggested Bet – ARID EACHWAY RACE 4 BERGAMO comes through the Crystal’s Dream maiden (subsequent 3 year old 0MWLY winner) which has produced winners Fries With That and Musqueam (Zooropa also goes round Thursday at Belmont). Settled a long way off them and hit the line full of running. Winkers on, drawn a far better gate and likely to position up closer in the run. WEST COAST WARRIOR has put the writing on the wall in two runs back this preparation. Big replay watch first-up behind Argen Sauvage when settling at the rear and reeling off some of the best closing sections to get within 2.2L late. Not a pretty watch last start when flashing home into third behind Final Chill. Ready to win. BOBSLED is a 25 start maiden but has returned in career best form. PRESIDENT SAM an improver. Numbers: 10 – 6 – 1 – 2 Suggested Bet – BERGAMO WIN RACE 5 DO IT RIGHT, MISS INTENTION and COMEALILBITCLOSER are low strike rate horses but both look to draw to get the runs they need to pinch another. DO IT RIGHT finished off hard behind Wise Counsel, a race which in only 17 days has produced two subsequent winners (Megami & Ocean Aura) as well as a place getter in Expelliarmus, with Magic Whistle to run Thursday in Race 1 at Belmont. MISS INTENTION has clearly turned a corner and is savaging the line and thriving on racing at Pinjarra Park. COMEALILBITCLOSER is rarely far from the winner but at the same time struggles to put his head in front. FAT ROY SLIM returns as a lightly raced 4 year old with more upside than the vast majority of these. Numbers: 2 – 4 – 9 – 1 Suggested Bet – DO IT RIGHT EACHWAY RACE 6 CANDLELIGHT SUPPER looks like enjoying an ecomonical run midfield with cover from an ideal gate. Hit the line well first-up without a trial and then was solid enough finishing midfield behind Rulelee at Belmont. Pat Carbery jumps on and in an open and even C3 she looks one of many winning chances. ROCKSTAR STATUS crossed and found the front from a wide gate first-up and never looked like being run down. Think she’ll nearly cross again from out deep and from there she’s hard to run down. ALLMAMONEY clearly has the best race form to her name but she hasn’t been seen at the races in over 500 days (June 2021). At her best she wins this. NINETYONE DWYER gains the services of W.Pike and is a consistent mare. Numbers: 3 – 4 – 1 – 5 Suggested Bet – CANDLELIGHT SUPPER EACHWAY RACE 7 CASINO SEVENTEEN has had three runs in WA. Third behind The Velvet Queen and Speed Dream in a 72+, third behind Alsephina and Big Bada Boom in a 72+ and last Saturday was nailed on the post by The Velvet Queen in another 72+. Backs up off 7 days, drops in grade into a 66+ and is drawn to sit three deep with cover working into the race. Looks a great set up for him. REAL DANGER has turned into one of the most consistent on speed gallopers in WA in the last few months. She gives 110% and will sit up over the speed and stay out of trouble again here. TINSNIP was great last start behind Knot Secret and seems to really run for Keshaw Dhurun. WEAPONSON got a long way back last start, previous runs for the new stable were excellent. Numbers: 6 – 5 – 3 – 10 Suggested Bet – CASINO SEVENTEEN WIN RACE 8 GALACTIC STORM is very well placed back into a C3. First-up last preparation he was an impressive winner at Pinjarra Park in a C1 and then he went to a 3 year old 1400m when finishing second to Pat’s Got Sass. Not much went right for him further into the preparation when third behind Zephyra and The Velvet Queen before being held up on multiple occasions at subsequent runs. Get back runner with a 3kg apprentice is always risky but loved his trial without blinkers. Nice horse. SUNNY HONEY had them covered as soon as he found the breeze last start. If he gets across again, he’s hard to gun down. MY BOY EDDY raced in harder than this last campaign and looks to have further improvement. SECRET STATUE is going well. Numbers: 2 – 8 – 5 – 11 Suggested Bet – GALACTIC STORM WIN Quaddie (Race 5 – 8) 1,2,3,4,9 1,3,4 2,3,5,6,10 2,5,8 Market Market
