Chris Nelson’s Eagle Farm Best Bets Posted on December 15, 2022December 15, 2022 | Posted by Chris Nelson RACE 2 No.10 Star Gamble I’d expect a solid tempo in this race which is going to hopefully set up the race for those parked off the speed. That’s ideal for this Kelly Schweida trained 4yo who wasn’t far away at the Gold Coast behind Arentee last start and we saw that one come out and run so well in The Gateway here last Saturday. Down in weight and grade he should prove too strong. RACE 3 No.2 Alburq He’s gone from a non-winner to flying this prep having won 2 of his past 3 with a fast-finishing 4th the latest at Doomben when just giving away too much start. Saturday sees him take the step up to a mile for the first time and judging by the way he’s been hitting the line it’s only going to work in his favour. Look out for him late! RACE 5 No.1 Kovalica One of the features tomorrow is the Grand Prix where we see two Sydney gallopers likely to be back here for the Derby next winter. Kovalica and Tradition are their names I whilst I respect Tradition, I can’t see him lowering Kovalica’s colours. Dominant at Doomben he’s yet to put in a poor run within his 4 career starts, he maps in the first couple and from there wins again. Quaddie 1, 6 1, 2, 5 1, 4, 3 3, 2, 12, 9 Market Market
