Chris Nelson’s Doomben Best Bets Posted on September 2, 2022September 2, 2022 | Posted by Chris Nelson RACE 3 No.7 Carribean King Very consistent galloper who put in a terrific effort here a fortnight back winding up in third spot only 0.3L from the winner. He lumped 59kg sitting three wide throughout still clocking the second fastest final 200m split of the race. He draws a lot better this time around, drops 4kg in weight and will handle any going. Very well placed by trainer Stuart Kendrick, I’d be surprised should he not run well. RACE 7 No.5 Jakama Loomed to win here last start however just didn’t quite finish off running a close-up 4th. I like him staying at the same trip on Saturday and feel he’s a much better horse on wet ground as his record does suggest. With the forecast rain we’re likely to be going around on a heavy track which will suit him down to the ground. Hard to beat. RACE 8 No.6 Snippy Fox As mentioned above there’s plenty of rain forecast for Brisbane Friday/Saturday suggesting we’re every chance of racing on heavy ground. That plays right into the hands of this Sydney visitor from the Joe Pride stable who is an absolute swimmer having placed at all five heavy outings which includes three wins. Outclassed last start he’s had a freshen up and recent trial in readiness for tomorrows return. Quaddie 4, 6, 8, 10 5, 4, 3 6, 9, 7, 5 12, 3 Market Market
