Harry Buchanan’s Daily Greyhound Tips Posted on July 23, 2022 | Posted by Harry Buchanan CANNINGTON Race 2 No. 7 Major Sacrifice Looking for him to roll along out in the arm. It’s a simple matter of where Tsar Bell gets to and how far behind him he is in the run. The 7 is in form though and racing as well as ever. He won’t let the 5 pass him easily. Race 4 No. 2 Momentum Time to step up and show he’s still the measuring stick in WA sprinting. Gets the right draw and map and can bounce right back to his best here with a clean step and early dash. Was gallant behind the 5 last week and can turn the tables here. Needs to produce tonight. Race 5 No. 5 Sunset Louie While the 7 is one of the sports next guns, the 5 is an EW play here and can figure. This fav was huge last start but he’s very short and presents some risk in this company. The 5 looks to get to the fence early and he can work home hard with a clear run to hit the podium. Race 8 No. 4 Bill Monelli The only thing stopping us declaring him a bird is the fact he has some speed around him early. That’s also why he is a price. Can still offset that however and if he begins and holds his own early, he will be in the finish. Was good last start and ready to win again. Race 9 No. 8 Exhilarate and No. 5 Sunset Whistler The 8 has been ignored in the market here and shouldn’t be. Can give these a stack to think about in this small field and won’t disgrace himself with his good track and trip record. The 5 is airborne again and he can right over behind the 2 here early. Has a big middle section that he sustains and can win. In a top kennel that regularly hits the winners stall. Race 10 No. 4 Sunset Givenchy Another runner for Eric here and he’s taking the step up to 600m after some good runs lately. Put a strong dog away 2 starts ago then had no luck behind the kennel mate last week but made ground home. Looks suited here to the trip and hard to beat. Race 11 No. 1 West On Governor Chris Halse finally got the very best out of this bloke at Cannington last time and that was what we were waiting for. Has a stack of talent and drawn to perfection here to offer a repeat performance. Has a blistering turn of foot up the back and is the one they all have to beat. Best bet. Race 12 No. 6 Scared Lomar Super effort last week when having little luck but was strongest on the line in a blanket go. Small field suits here and can land closer to run a better race and be in the finish. Runs time when he’s on. Good EW play to round out. WENTWORTH PARK Race 2 No. 4 Sekora If she can just land a little closer this time, she will be major force here. Great track and trip form and runs home in good fractions, she just needs to show more early to be very hard to stop in this company. EW go for her. Race 6 No. 1 Spring Elegance and No. 8 Lektra Lad The 1 has her box and while a fraction disappointing last week, can atone here and will be there from the outset. The 8 has his box as well and will wind up strongly here. Does his best work out wide and can surprise this field especially if he lands close early. Has a fast win here. Race 7 No. 1 Four Five and No. 2 Smart Fernando Both these smoke the pipe on the fence here. The 1 is drawn right where he loves it and will drive home along the rails the entire trip. The 2 is enigmatic but a silly quote and some of these won’t go off the arm. Look for him to get a run up the back and charge home late at odds. Place heavy for him. Race 11 No. 5 Royal Emgrand and No. 1 Stanley Road A couple of experienced boys here. The 1 better known as a stayer but this small field and box will keep him close and hard to hold out late. The 5 can still run time for Masters grade and if he gets a look they won’t hold him out either. Both dogs only need to be within striking range at the top to be in the finish. THE MEADOWS Race 3 No. 2 Jefferson County and No. 7 Orson Emmy The 2 had little luck in a heat of the Maturity last week. Stuck on ok for a dog who was taking on better class and can improve here into the money. Don’t dismiss the 7. She is frustrating and can be costly but when she turns up, she can mix it with most in this class. Confidence booster last start. Will be odds and an EW play. Race 4 No. 7 Alfie Moon and No. 8 Boom Lateral While these two favs will be hard to stop, I think the 7 can go better in this small field. He is starting to furnish into a strong stayer and will be a price to play here. Look for him to run on. The 8 is an enigma but he’s boxed perfectly and can reel off unstoppable sections some days. Will just keep coming and can absolutely hit top 2. Outside of those two, we could box up 1,2,7,8 in exotics for a result. Race 5 No. 5 Jye’s Jet, No. 6 Jigglypuff and No. 7 Major Giblet Once again, going around the two favs here and playing a few runners. The 5 wears the shades and you can see why some days. Yet he has a stack of talent and top back here to 600 is good. The 5 will go fast early and was super at Ballarat recently and our old mate in 7 is way over the odds and can get up there. He sticks like glue. Small EW plays here on these couple. The Group 3 Fireball – Race 6 No. 4 Victa Haydn and No. 3 Rohan Bale At risk of being shouted down by most of SA, I keep coming back to Victa Haydn at the price. He is the outsider, at least 12 points excess of his 108% price and can only win if certain things happen….. but they can happen. He needs to be the first dog behind the 5 and 6 who will show out on the arm here. He also needs to take over by the 730m boxes the 2nd time round as he isn’t a genuine stayer in this class and lacks the last section as shown last week. However if he sees the arm early enough and gets it solo at any stage, he might just hold on enough to win. The 3 is a monster danger and while he has lengths on the 4, he gets back and needs luck. If he gets it, this is over. Will be a top stayer in 6 months anywhere. The 8 is the class runner who would be odds on off the inside but he handles box 8 as well. However he is lacking early dash at the moment. That could lead him to being planted. 5 and 6 will give sights on the arm. We will play the 4 EW and hope it all falls into place and save the 3 because he’s the best dog in the race. BET: 4 EW BET: 3 Win Race 7 No. 5 Indy Honey and No. 6 Yahiro Bale The 5 is ultra consistent and racing without luck. Still keeps coming after checks and can show early dash most starts. Great EW play again. The 6 has a serious motor and while she can find trouble, a clear run makes her unstoppable and has won in blistering time here before. Both great shows here. The Group 1 Maturity – Race 8 No. 2 Lektra Rhino and No. 8 Kelsey Bale Like Wow She’s Fast needed any help to win this after the heat, she lobs in box 1. This race is over. She is the best dog in the race by panels and only horrid bad luck or something freakish can bring her undone. So we will play two predominantly place heavy plays here. The 2 was huge in his heat and gets a gun map here. He will unleash a big run home and one of few who is comfortable off the arm. The 8 is the other who has any amount of talent and she was superb in her heat. She can also come from the back and has huge middle and last run homes. 5,6,7 all capable but badly boxed. Playing the 2 and 8 very place heavy here plus exotics as the 1 looks home. BET: 2 and 8 Place Heavy (1/10) BET: 1-2,8/Fld (Trifecta) Race 9 No. 6 Money Owes Loved his run last start and only has to offset the box to get into this. Had the middle draw when 4th to Dusty Bourbski in a Maturity heat and had little luck. Stuck on well and while he needs to step here, he is ready to win and can get the cart over with the 5 and possibly outpace him. Will look ominous if he gets near the arm. Race 10 No. 7 Red Reactor Massive talent and made huge ground last week off a tough draw in the heat of the Maturity. Has a fast win here and can come from anywhere in a field. Only needs clear run to score here and the vacant inside him just aids in his mission. Very hard to stop now. Market Market
