RACE 5 No.9 Nicci Trix
In great form since coming north having bolted in at Eagle Farm her first local start before a game second last time out at Doomben. On that occasion she did track wide at times and worked in a swiftly run section of the race. She looks to lead comfortably tonight and has won on both soft and heavy ground which is a big plus with the track still quite wet following all the rain earlier in the week.
RACE 6 No.3 Regimental Band
Another new addition to Queensland racing formerly with Kris Lees she’s a relatively lightly raced 5yo mare who performed well at her only local start to date running home strongly at Ipswich. She just gave away too much start there in a race not suited to those racing back in the field yet closed out strongly to beat all bar the winner. Taking the punt on her handling the wet ground.
RACE 8 No.1 Anarchy
Bit of a problem child he hung badly at various times before trainer Kelly Schweida put the tongue-tie on two starts back and bingo that certainly did the trick! A solid 4th two back was followed by a dominant win at Ipswich powering away from his rivals to break his maiden status in impressive fashion. Based on that the 1400m won’t be a problem and he’s now ticked the wet track box!
