Trent Cooper’s Gloucester Park Preview Posted on December 2, 2021December 2, 2021 | Posted by Trent Cooper Race 1 THE IDEAL TOUCH (5) was a strong winner from the breeze before taking up the same position and battling on well to finish 3rd in quick time here last week. He will have to work in the run again but appeals as the one to beat. HEEZ OUR PERSEUS (3) followed an eye-catching 2nd with as comfortable all-the-way victory here last week and can test his stablemate. BALTIC ACE (2) led throughout in good time at his last start and will give a sight if he finds the top. IONA DIAMOND (1) looks a good place chance from the pole. Tips: 5 3 2 1 Suggested Bet: THE IDEAL TOUCH (5) to win. Race 2 BLUE BLAZER (1) was only 4.5 m from the winner in Free-For-All company five starts back and will be hard to beat if he can recapture that form. MANDY JOAN (10) has been racing in strong mares’ company and will be dangerous if she sees daylight at the right time from this draw. LORD ROSCO (8) is a very quick beginner who will be hard to beat if he does cross at the start. DOUBLE EXPRESSO (7) disappointed here last week but will strip fitter for that effort. Tips: 1 10 8 7 Suggested Bet: MANDY JOAN (10) each way. Race 3 LEOSABI (12) impressed in winning two on end before running on well to finish 3rd at his last start. He will be suited by the likely fast early tempo and should prove hard to beat. ALICE KAY (3) was a strong 2nd here last week at her first run after a short break and looks a major player from this draw. TYPHOON BANNER (9) has a horror draw to overcome but will be charging home if the race is run to suit. POCKET THE CASH (8) is first-up from a wide draw but rarely runs a bad race and can figure in the finish. Tips: 2 3 9 8 Suggested Bet: LEOSABI (12) to win. Race 4 GAMBIT (9) has been placed from tough draws at his past two starts and this looks an easier assignment. JASPERVELLABEACH (5) is racing extremely consistently and will be dangerous if he gets the right trip in transit. AL GUERRERO (3) led throughout here three starts back and will give a great sight if he finds the top. MIRRAGON (7) dashed home in 55.9 when an easy all-the-way winner here last week and must be respected but will find this harder. Tips: 9 5 3 7 Suggested Bet: GAMBIT (9) to win. Race 5 HURRICANE HARLEY (3) was impressive in recording back-to-back victories at this track before not being suited in the breeze when finishing at the rear at his last start. His winning chances will depend on him crossing at the start but he will be hard to beat in that role. MAJOR MARTINI (11) is the up and comer who has toyed with easier rivals at his first two runs back from a spell and is ready for this class. MINSTREL (8) is drawn wide and first-up after a break but must be respected on his form before a spell. WILDWEST (1) may not have the speed to hold up but is still a major player from the pole. Tips: 3 11 8 1 Suggested Bet: HURRICANE HARLEY (3) to win. Race 6 BALCATHERINE (9) has faced the breeze in both of the Mares Classics for two strong placings and will appreciate the drop in class tonight. VIVERE DAMORE (1) hasn’t been able to lead this time in but grows a leg in front and looks the obvious danger. QUEEN SHENANDOAH (3) will sit just behind the speed and is capable of causing an upset if the leaders go too hard. ALTA CINDERELLA (4) has won nine of her 18 career starts and won’t be far away. Tips: 9 1 3 4 Suggested Bet: BALCATHERINE (9) to win. Race 7 GLENLEDI CHIEF (9) has two wins and two 2nds from his last four starts and should fight out the finish again. CAPTURED DELIGHT (3) has led throughout to win three of her last four starts from the stand and will be hard to catch if she finds the top tonight. GEE SMITH (1) has been placed in his past four starts in similar events and will be thereabouts again. JUST WING IT (10) has enjoyed perfect runs to beat GLENLEDI CHIEF (9) at his last two starts and could get the same run again. Tips: 9 3 1 10 Suggested Bet: GLENLEDI CHIEF (9) to win. Race 8 THREE RUMOURS (3) did things wrong in the early stages when 2nd to SAHARA STORM (6) but can reverse the result if she puts it all together tonight. SAHARA STORM (6) was ultra-impressive at her WA debut when she worked her way to the front and recorded a 1.54.4 victory and will be very hard to beat again. SOHO BROADWAY (4) disappointed as favourite in that event before defeating an easier field at her last start and must be considered. LADY JADORE (5) has won two in a row but rises in class. Tips: 3 6 4 5 Suggested Bet: THREE RUMOURS (3) to win. Race 9 RUPERT OF LINCOLN (1) crosses the Nullabor with good Victorian form and warmed up for this assignment with an impressive Pinjarra trial win. His form looks good enough to win this event but there is a query on his gate speed. ROCKABALL (7) has been racing well in stronger company and looks the obvious danger. MISTER ARDEE (11) was a good winner here before suffering a flat tyre at his last start and will be running on strongly. CAVALRY CALL (10) is drawn to trail the favourite and can be placed. Tips: 1 7 11 10 Suggested Bet: HEEZ OUR PERSEUS (4) to win. Race 10 YOURE SO FINE (6) was a dominant 1.54.9 winner from the breeze at his first run back from a spell before taking up the same position when nosed out by Floewriter. This looks an easier assignment and he is clearly the one to beat. BATTLESCARD (2 was a good first-up winner and looks the danger if he can find the front. PAUL EDWARD (5) has struggled to go with the favourite at his last two starts but looks a good place chance. THE WILDCARD (1) has the draw to be prominent and shouldn’t be far away. Tips: 6 2 5 1 Suggested Bet: YOURE SO FINE (6) to win. Market Market
