Scott Embry’s Sunday Pinjarra Preview Posted on December 3, 2021December 6, 2021 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 NIGHTS MYSTERY should be simply too quick for his opponents down the 1000m straight at the opening day of the Pinjarra Season. From barrier 7 in a 9 horse field William Pike should get very close to the outside fence and while in recent seasons it hasn’t been quite as dynamite as previous years it is still an advantage to be out in front and against the outside fence. Has speed and we’ll hope that he also has the stamina to run out a full 1000m. If he does, he should salute. DEE RODMAN didn’t fire a shot on debut. Returns without a trial. His Lark Hill efforts before his debut were strong. NORTHERN RULER might be looking for further. LUNA NOBEL has trialled up well and is trained locally. Numbers: 3 – 2 – 4 – 8 Suggested Bet – NIGHTS MYSTERY WIN RACE 2 AWESOME CHATTER went around odds on first-up at Belmont over 1000m and never got warm at any stage. Ran a moderate fourth and looked like he would need much further to find his rhythm. Adam Durrant immediately steps him out to what looks a more suitable 1200m (still may be on the shorter side?) but is worth following up off his trial alone. RUSTIC ROSE looks like she’s knee high to a grasshopper, tiny little mare who we’ve only seen publicly once. Hit the line nicely. MY NORINA hasn’t had much go her way at the races so far. Looks to have a level of ability. THE RUSH comes through the Nights Mystery trial which may look like good form after Race 1. Numbers: 5 – 8 – 9 – 10 Suggested Bet – AWESOME CHATTER WIN RACE 3 LADY TORONADO had a few things go wrong on debut. Crowded, bumped and steadied shortly after the start of a 1000m race is normally game over at Northam, especially when there’s a flying filly like Dance Session engaged who never comes up for air. Thought she did a super job to get within 3.5L of the winner late in the race and if a few things go her way this time out she should take beating. Like the look of her. SALLY CAN WAIT has promised to win a maiden for a long while and actually has been first past the post previously (protested against and upheld). Shouldn’t be too long before she wins race number one (again). EMERALD TRADER has looked a handy horse at trials over two preparations. Drawn awkwardly but Lynette Watson looks to have her hands on a nice galloper. NIIGATA will settle prominently. Numbers: 9 – 7 – 4 – 10 Suggested Bet – LADY TORONADO WIN RACE 4 CONSTANT DREAMING was the centre of attention post-race after her impressive and luckless debut. Clint Johnston-Porter is still subject to an inquiry into decisions made from the 500m and this looks a great chance to take luck out of the equation and get her to the outside to unleash what looks to be a nice turn of acceleration. Related to Kia Ora Koutou / Tena Koutou and looks to have an Oaks kind of preparation ahead of her. Can make amends. GRATIAS DEO was backed as if unbeatable first-up and did a lot wrong. Might not be that obvious to the eye but Brad Rawiller had his hands full the entire race from over racing to laying in badly. MR FAHRENHEIT loomed the winner fresh before Seduce Me descended upon them. PRIVATE SCENE ran into the sharp Acefire last start. Numbers: 9 – 3 – 1 – 8 Suggested Bet – CONSTANT DREAMING WIN RACE 5 UNI QUEEN loomed into the race like the winner fresh and Shaun O’Donnell kept her balanced and together as long as he possibly could in an attempt to hold out the charging favourite The Velvet Queen. Think The Velvet Queen is well and truly above average and so that form should hold up nicely. Looks to have come back a more complete filly and from the draw she can enjoy a similar run in transit against a lesser quality of opponent. TWO SMOKING GUNS has trialled well enough to warrant consideration on debut. MANHATTAN DEMON was very green on debut. Actually travelled quite well until the corner. BELL LAP looks better suited out in trip. Numbers: 9 – 7 – 5 – 1 Suggested Bet – UNI QUEEN WIN RACE 6 IRRITABLE RODNEE won first-up last preparation and will be looking to do the same here. Struck a few wet tracks last campaign and many will question whether he’s a wet tracker and whether he can reproduce on a Pinjarra Good4 in December. Didn’t mind his recent trial, love the barrier and map and SJ Miller can get them going early in the preparation. Expecting him to go well in an even and open race. PICK YOUR BATTLES lay outwards noticeably last start and didn’t pick up in the same manner he had first-up or second-up. Worth forgiving. AIRLIE QUEEN has been going round short since her emphatic victory three starts ago. SCORPION STORMZ ran well first-up at 1000m and should have no excuses from the draw. Numbers: 2 – 3 – 4 – 1 Suggested Bet – IRRITABLE RODNEE EACHWAY RACE 7 AMBERGATE ROSE deserves to break back into the winner’s circle. Highly consistent and honest mare from yard of Paul Roberts who has only missed the money twice in her life. Recent form reads up particularly well for a race of this nature with a third behind The Haitian Poet and subsequent winner Cross Statement as well as splitting handy pair Queen Of Soul and My Marlaina when hitting the line full of running. From the draw can settle closer and looks ready to win. BOURBON BEAU went super last start taking a sit after the shades came off. Should get a similar run here. EYE OF THE DAY has produced some eye catching runs this campaign for Sue Olive. HELL RAIDER hasn’t quite got warm yet this prep. Numbers: 2 – 5 – 11 – 1 Suggested Bet – AMBERGATE ROSE WIN RACE 8 BEAT THE BRO is a hard horse to catch but historically if you’re going to catch him it will be at Pinjarra. Both career wins from his 24 start career have been at Pinny and from the barrier new rider Clint Johnston-Porter can have him in a position close handy with cover and from there he’s clearly going well enough to salute. Looks to be genuine speed in this race and that’s what he needs in his races. Three runs this preparation have all been replay watchers bread and butter. FASHION QUEEN ran into the in form mare Ginger Flyer last start. Kept fresh with a month between runs and maps to get the softest of runs. NATIVE CHIMES can kick through to lead or take a sit on natural leader Inflation. Either way gets the right run. INFLATION will need to burn the candle at both ends. Numbers: 6 – 7 – 1 – 4 Suggested Bet – BEAT THE BRO WIN RACE 9 BROADWAY GIRL has been a test of patience for trainer Kylie Pisconeri but this looks as good an opportunity as any to get the job done. Biggest danger and likely favourite Disengo is drawn in barrier 12 and may have to snag back a fair way in this big field and conversely Shaun O’Donnell and Broadway Girl can roll forward and be kept out of trouble. Sat three deep the trip last start with 60kg and now carries 58.5kg in the same grade of race from a better barrier. DISENGO is drawn in a tough spot but he’s the progressive horse in the race with improvement at each start to be expected. ACT INNOCENT is drawn a gate and has been going well since joining Ray Vincent. ALL ON BLACK gets a soft run along the paint. Numbers: 2 – 3 – 4 – 9 Suggested Bet – BROADWAY GIRL WIN Quaddie (Race 6 – 9) 1,2,3,4,5 2,5 1,4,6,7 2,3,4 Market Market
