The Ascot Feature Rankings Posted on November 3, 2021November 4, 2021 | Posted by Digby Beacham Group 3 WA Champion Fillies (1600m) – November 13 1. TREASURED STAR Market suggested she was the one to beat in the Listed Burgess Queen Stakes. That she didn’t salute was no fault of hers. Not prepared to concede on this girl. 2. BUZZOOM An equine ATM. Refuses to run a bad race and is now a Listed winner. Her turn of foot ensures she is competitive all the time. 3. SEARCHIN’ ROC’S Wasn’t able to stretch her winning streak to five. That said she was anything but disappointing in the Burgess Queen. Remains a live hope. 4. HOI AN Patience is wearing thin, although there might have been extenuating circumstances for her failure yesterday. Would love to see her ridden more positively when drawn favourably. 5. MY FURY Replaces stablemate Champagne Dame in the top five after her impressive effort in the Burgess Queen at a big price. The mile doesn’t loom as a stumbling block. Group 2 WA Guineas (1600m) – November 20 1. TREASURED STAR Does she need to win the WA Champion Fillies Stakes to head here? Probably not. Can she win the WA Champion Fillies Stakes to convince connections to push on? Absolutely. 2. IT’SARAYDAY A new entry. No denying his raw talent and if is successful this weekend, it might just force trainer Simon Miller to have a throw at the stumps over a mile. 3. DEVOTED Will lock horns with It’sarayday in the Listed Fairetha Stakes. Looks to be the pick of the Peters Investments boys. 4. HE’S GOLD Another Fairetha runner. The effort in the Listed Belgravia Stakes was sound. The rise in distance will suit. Should run well again this weekend. 5. SPARKLING BLUE Settled on this girl given she is two for two. The WA Champion Fillies Stakes next weekend might come around too soon considering she won over 1100m fresh yesterday. An extra week and the fact she started her career at 1300m in August is interesting. Group 1 Railway Stakes (1600m) – November 20 1. WESTERN EMPIRE Impossible not to have this bloke on top. His return in the Group 3 Asian Beau Stakes was as breathtaking as it was arrogant. A proper racehorse. 2. KISSONALLFORCHEEKS Never a hope after Clint Johnston-Porter pushed forward in the Asian Beau. Still needs to qualify, but her best is well and truly good enough. 3. TOO CLOSE THE SUN Get to see him return in the Lee-Steere Stakes. Wide gate makes it hard, but if he has come on since the trial last week, they will know he is there. 4. KAPTAIN KAOS No reason to shift him. He was four last week and remains in that position ahead of his campaign-defining outing in the RJ Peters. 5. DANCE MUSIC Still believe this mare represents excellent value at $26 with TABtouch. You know what you get and she is a winner. Group 1 Winterbottom Stakes (1200m) – November 27 1. ELITE STREET If you want to know what a horse who is “in the zone” looks like, let me know. I’ll send you a picture of Elite Street. Awesome at both runs back this spring. 2. STAGEMAN Chased hard as he always does in the Prince Of Wales. Can he spot Elite Street a length or two and run him down over 1200m in a Winterbottom? 3. INDIAN PACIFIC Much better effort last Saturday. Will need to elevate again, but his CV is very good. Respect his talent levels. 4. FLIRTINI Thought she would figure in the money last weekend, but the hot 1000m was beyond her. She will be better in the Colonel Reeves and is proven at the 1200m of the Winterbottom. 5. TRIPLE MISSILE Elevated this bloke at the expense of Graceful Girl after his slashing 1000m effort behind Wilchino. Broke 11 seconds for the final 200m. Just looks to have major upside. Group 1 Kingston Town Classic (1800m) – December 4 1. TREASURED STAR If this girl had won yesterday, her already short Kingston Town quote would have been tweaked. Quality three-year-olds and this race are a lovely combination. 2. WESTERN EMPIRE He is going to concede Treasured Star considerable weight, but if his return last weekend is an indication of how well Grant and Alana Williams have got him going, she better look out. 3. TOO CLOSE THE SUN Sticking fat with this tough-as-teak gelding. Proven WFA performer and hails from an astute yard. 4. KISSONALLFORCHEEKS She’ll need to be ridden cold to maximise her potential. But that turn of foot is oh so impressive. 5. BUZZOOM Like her stablemate, possesses excellent point-to-point speed and can take up a position in running which works for the three-year-olds in this race. Market Market
