Scott Embry’s Sunday Kalgoorlie Preview Posted on October 15, 2021October 15, 2021 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 TAHITIAN RED stays in Kalgoorlie and joins the yard of Gary Bowen. Blinkers are immediately re-applied by the new stable and she was plunged in betting on Hannans Handicap day. Thinking here that the lead is up for grabs and Faithfull might be able to take up a prominent position in running in an open and even maiden. AUNTY JEAN is not an easy ride but clearly has some level of ability. Improving with experience. NOBEL PRINCE joins John A. Mason and the run behind Green & Shady was much improved. SECRET LAIR joins MR Peter Fernie and while she hasn’t reproduced her 2 year old form yet she might in a new environment. Numbers: 6 – 5 – 1 – 4 Suggested Bet – TAHITIAN RED WIN RACE 2 WATTO’S FURY finds a race every preparation and rarely runs a bad one. Love the engagement of Holly Watson and currently the #1 fan for her 2kg (3kg in town) claim which is proving luxurious and a recipe for cash. Last start was only beaten by talented Goldfields galloper Staralign in a 66+ with subsequent winner Indigo Blue back in the field gasping for air. Can either lead or breeze outside Hayan Lad and they control the race. HAYAN LAD split Semigel and Tajmali before romping in at Leonora while Paul Sortras was looking for his lost stubby holder (I’d check Mitch Pateman’s trailer home Dorty). Clearly the testing material. STRATOCREED is consistent and honest and well placed in this grade. LITTLE HERCULES is never far from the action. Numbers: 2 – 6 – 1 – 3 Suggested Bet – WATTO’S FURY WIN RACE 3 LITTLE SES went on a winning spree when arriving in the Goldfields under the care of Dave Smith. Dave is very good at improving these tried types and adds Little Ses to the list of success stories that include Excaro and Spiritual Warrior. Went round favourite in a 60+ Graduation on Cup Day and now finds herself back into more suitable c58+. Ridden cold she’ll be flying at them late. PROZONE was a spirited betting move on Hannans Handicap day. Opened $26, jumped $3.30. Heart breaking to see plunges not land but goes to show that this gelding isn’t too far away from pinching another one for emerging mullet farmer and trainer Nick Carocapo. JAKESTAR is racing without luck. Going well. KAKADU was super last start out of his grade. Numbers: 7 – 8 – 6 – 3 Suggested Bet – LITTLE SES WIN RACE 4 SUPERLOVE and JOYRIZE gives Josh Brown-Forder a big look at a stable quinella with the former Pearce Pair hard to split in this 50+ 1300. With the weight relief after the claim for Holly Watson siding up with SUPERLOVE who can bounce on top of the speed and be there for a long way. Finished only 1L off Bye Felicia and Joyrize last start, gets 4kg off Bye Felicia and 2.5kg off Joyrize. Significant weight swings in an attempt to turn the tables. JOYRIZE has the services of B.Rawiller as Brown-Forder tries to give first season sire Michael Heaton a baby gift (standing in Floreat for $20 +GST, 1 foal on the ground, looks an early runner). Ready to win and drawn to get the run required. TOWN HALL wasn’t too bad at his John Mason debut and can improve drawn soft. PYRO has been a revelation since going to Kalgoorlie. Numbers: 7 – 4 – 6 – 1 Suggested Bet – SUPERLOVE WIN RACE 5 THE HAITIAN POET was a replay run and a half at his WA debut. Racing in a Graduation 1100m he got back to near last and absolutely charged down the middle late to really catch the eye. Somehow managed to get within a length of them in the finish and now is back in grade, better drawn and has the services of Lucky Ramoly who rides the track well. If he reproduces the finishing burst he’ll be very hard to hold out. YOYO’S ran well on Cup day and is drawn to get a lovely tow into the race. BORN SPICY was luckless two starts ago and found out at 1200m last start. Far better race for her here. NEUROLOGIC finds another new home. Very quick if allowed to run. Numbers: 4 – 5 – 9 – 1 Suggested Bet – THE HAITIAN POET WIN RACE 6 ABOARD is another gun ride for Holly Watson and while only winning 1 from 23 the mare has promised to go through the grades. Finished second in a C2 1400m two starts ago behind Regal Dividend and last start sat off the speed and rattled home behind Bye Felicia against her normal race pattern. Showing versatility and gets out to a suitable trip. Best chance so far this preparation to pinch a win before Esperance. AMERICAN GRIN is drawn to get a soft run but will need gaps late. MEET JOE BLACK beat a handy maiden on Hannans Day. THREE EZE is a tease. Numbers: 3 – 1 – 2 – 4 Suggested Bet – ABOARD WIN RACE 7 DARK MISSION is flying for the new yard. The win over Devine Beast three starts ago was enormous when carrying weight, the run two starts ago was completely luckless when finding traffic throughout and never getting a crack at them and then the run on Cup Day was excellent when getting home hard late in a race which wasn’t quite run to suit. Drawn better here and just needs an ounce of luck to play a part. DEVINE BEAST is going undeniably well but isn’t quite getting the job done. Knocking on the door. ALCINA got knocked around and never got into the race on Cup day when supported at odds. SOLARIZE was a replay watchers diamond last start. Can go on with it now. Numbers: 1 – 3 – 8 – 6 Suggested Bet – DARK MISSION WIN Quaddie (Race 4 – 7) 1,3,4,6,7 4,5,9 1,2,3,4 1,2,3,6,8,9 Market Market
