Chris Nelson’s Gold Coast Best Bets Posted on May 6, 2021May 6, 2021 | Posted by Chris Nelson RACE 2 No.3 Usmanov Sent south in the early part of the year he finished out of the placings in Listed races however was far from disgraced being beaten just over 3 lengths on each occasion. Freshened up he returns to his home track and finds a very winnable race to kick off his winter campaign. Adept on all types of going he draws to get the right run, very hard to beat. RACE 4 No.3 Racecourse Road Kelly Schweida trained sprinter in sparkling form this prep having won both starts in strong fashion. He does appear very well placed tomorrow in a race without much speed up front, should he not find the lead then expect him to park in the first two or three and from there he’s going to take plenty of beating. Loves the wet, loves the track, plenty of ticks! RACE 7 No.3 Simply Fly Regular jockey Steph Thornton has always said he’s got a big bag of tricks this one however not even she would have expected to be on the ground after 100m last start when he took fright and bucked at some seagulls. His previous form was outstanding and he loves this track, he’ll get to the outside in the straight and charge to the line, hopefully right over the leaders.
