Scott Embry’s Saturday Ascot Preview Posted on April 1, 2021April 1, 2021 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 REQUISTION is a 1000m horse who has been in wonderful form recently. Winner down the 1000m straight three starts ago, second to highly progressive mare and subsequent Saturday 72+ winner Miss Contiki and then third behind talented mare and subsequent 66+ winner Amasenus after sitting three deep the trip over the speed. Brad Rawiller picks up the ride and can park in just behind the speed. Looks a great race for him. DEW WEST returns fresh and has run well off an identical preparation in the past. Pokes up along the inside on a day which should suit those on pace. ROUND THE POINT has a few to cross underneath him. If he gets across, he’s in the mix. SCOOTER’S MACHINE is a huge query at 1000m but has excellent form for this 58+. Numbers: 4 – 2 – 5 – 1 Suggested Bet – REQUISITION WIN RACE 2 SASSY TRADER resumed first-up no trial over the 1000 when beaten in the shadows of the post by Out Boy Dylan. Was absorbing all the early pressure when eventually crossed by Savage One before popping off the fence to breeze outside of him. Left a sitting duck and was brave in defeat. Great use of the 2kg claim for Ramoly and looks an eachway chance in a wide-open affair. ISEERED ISEERED looks suited to tracking high speed filly Spiced Delight from the inside draw. Has some X-Factor to him. GIANCANA was a super trial but she may have to drag back to last? HELL’S BELLE should get the right run from the draw. Numbers: 1 – 2 – 6 – 7 Suggested Bet – SASSY TRADER EACHWAY RACE 3 BILLY AIN’T SILLY has always looked a big, raw talent. Blinkers went on last start, he was taken to the top by Jerry Noske and never looked like being beaten. The form around him has held up relatively well and from the draw he can either lead or box seat on Special View. From either position he’s an eachway chance in another evenly graded 3 year old handicap. INDIGO BLUE clearly has the strongest race form to her name but the draw is very tricky for Johnston-Porter. Versatile filly who may get posted. SPECIAL VIEW has been a revelation since joining Hayden Ballentine and being ridden for speed. STANDOUT ROSE was truck loaded last start and had no luck when going under. Will be in traffic again. Numbers: 1 – 2 – 5 – 7 Suggested Bet – BILLY AIN’T SILLY EACHWAY RACE 4 DENIM PACK is simply a different horse for Laqdar Ramoly than any other rider. Only won 4 from 51 but is 2 from 5 under the Mauritian Apprentice. Resumed first-no trial at 1000m and chased hard after easing out to a clear last in running from a wide gate. Ran an identical final 600 to Amasenus and from the draw can now box seat. Goes round double figures and can run a cheeky race. GLASGOW GIRL won’t get a better opportunity to pinch a Saturday race. Would love to see her lead Prevailing Winds. CUBALLING comes back in grade from a 66+ and was an impressive winner when plunged into odds on in this grade two starts ago. AMELIA’S CONTRAIRE is drawn wide, has to drag back and will need to defy likely conditions with an Easterly Breeze blowing. Numbers: 5 – 7 – 1 – 3 Suggested Bet – DENIM PACK EACHWAY RACE 5 CLAIRVOYANCE will hold the attention of a nation at her return to racing. The undefeated filly was at one stage All-In favourite for the 2020 Winterbottom Stakes at Group 1 level. The WFA ratings she was returning were phenomenal, the speed figures out of her victories mouth-watering and her recent 400m jump out suggests she’s back bigger and possibly even better. She’ll bring a crowd of her own. RIVER BEAU is in career best form and unfortunately runs into another top grader here in Clairvoyance. Where ever he goes next, he’ll be hard to beat. PLATINUM BULLET has been smashing the clock and running super L600 splits. Will be chasing a fair way out. ZIEBELL likely leads Clairvoyance and then has her attacking him at the 600. Good luck Jack. Numbers: 6 – 8 – 5 – 2 Suggested Bet – CLAIRVOYANCE WIN RACE 6 PLETTO is the kind of mare who is going to need a few favours from the inside draw on a day where the majority of winners are expected to settle in the first 4 in running. She’ll likely be in an identical position in running to where she was last start. 3 back the fence, working her way into the race from the 600. Has an impressive turn of acceleration and with even luck can continue her way through the grades. BRUCE ALMIGHTY made her earn it last start. If he gets across to the breeze, he’s a definite danger. TINSNIP had no luck last week and showed at his previous there isn’t much between him and Bruce. TRILLED ran a far better race at his second WA outing. Numbers: 9 – 6 – 4 – 5 Suggested Bet – PLETTO WIN RACE 7 BIG BADA BOOM is 7 weeks between runs at 1800m. Was an immediate red flag and went into the race looking to get him beaten but the more you look the harder it is to knock him. This race contains little to no natural speed so Pateman should have no worries kicking through underneath them, leading, dictating, controlling and upping the tempo to suit himself. KERMAN ROCK is coming out of strong 3 year old racing and should get a lovely run behind the favourite. BONNEVILLE BLACK ran a ripper first-up. Does he go back again? Probably. BLACK COMET unlikely to get conditions to suit but showed last start he’ll measure up. Numbers: 2 – 9 – 1 – 8 Suggested Bet – BIG BADA BOOM WIN RACE 8 PAT’S GOT SASS has a real excitement factor and intrigue about her. For her size it’s amazing that she’s racing as a 2 year old but she looks the ultimate professional. Won with an air of arrogance on debut and then was forced to sit three deep without cover the trip in the Gimcrack from a wide gate. Drawn in and around other speed types: He’s Gold, Storm Whisper and Ultimate Command so should be pushing up underneath them into the box seat. From there she’s hard to beat and goes round eachway. LIWA won the Supremacy well and was sectionally impressive in the Gimcrack. Looking for 1200m and if it turns into a gut buster she’ll be launching late. HEAVENLY WATERS is a forgotten filly. Drawn well and finally gets some weight relief at set weights conditions. SPIN THE KNIFE can come out running to find a position. Numbers: 15 – 10 – 7 – 4 Suggested Bet – PAT’S GOT SASS EACHWAY RACE 9 LUKE’S GOLD could not have been any bigger in his last two (17) starts. Raced wide without cover in the Bunbury Stakes when finishing third behind Western Temple and then sat even deeper in the Grandstand Cup when still somehow finishing third behind Dig Deep and Samizdat. The majority of his recent rivals go to the Old Comrade Stakes and he drops back into a 78+. Goes round eachway and always runs an eachway race. WATCH ME DANCE is the real deal. She was set an impossible task first-up after copping 59.5kg in a re-handicapped race before drawing gate 12 of 13. This race is perfect for her. WAR GOD gets the right run and is almost ready. TYCOON STORM returned in brilliant order first-up. Numbers: 2 – 3 – 11 – 6 Suggested Bet – LUKE’S GOLD EACHWAY Quaddie (R6 – R9) 2,4,5,6,7,9 2,9 2,4,7,10,15 2,3,5,6,11 Market Market
