Scott Embry’s Friday Esperance Preview Posted on January 21, 2021January 21, 2021 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 BYE FELICIA comes from provincial maidens into the Esperance pool of horses who have been going round and round for a fair while. Alternate form in maiden company is usually the strongest form and her recent runs behind Universal Pleasure and Fiery Bay speak for themselves. Should be too classy. LIQUIDITY chased hard behind Yamatai last start and should pick one up soon. FORTUNE’S GIFT was beaten an eyelash back in December. EMERALD ROSE has been a maiden for years but always puts in a cheeky one fresh. Numbers: 10 – 2 – 6 – 5 Suggested Bet – BYE FELICIA WIN RACE 2 ILZAAM went close two starts ago at Esperance over 1400m. Then went to Albany as part of Helen Harding’s travelling team and put in a shocker beaten 12.5L. The run wasn’t quite as bad as it reads after sitting three deep the trip throughout. Worth going again. DEVALERA PARK has been there abouts all preparation and drawn the inside should have no excuses. KENDEL’S IMPACT is a perennial maiden but going quite well since joining the new yard. WORLD RULER joins the brand-new stable of Nicholas Abrey. Peter Fernie’s #1 track rider turns trainer. Good luck sir. Numbers: 9 – 3 – 1 – 6 Suggested Bet – IZLAAM WIN RACE 3 DEEL RED looks a class above rivals. Winner of a 58+ at Esperance two starts ago when leading throughout. Winner of a C5 last start when again dominating from right over the speed. 60kg shouldn’t worry him and at 2000m he will again roll to the top, control the race and should be awfully hard to run down. PRINCE HAL is 1 from 47 but that isn’t quite an accurate reflection of how well this 7 year old is going this prep. ABOARD is racing consistently and always looked like she would stay. SALVARA is starting to hit form. Numbers: 1 – 8 – 6 – 4 Suggested Bet – DEEL RED WIN RACE 4 HEAVEN’S GATE is always hard to beat in these mile races once he hits form. 29 starts at Esperance for 9 wins and 5 minors, loves the track, loves the trip (4 time winner at the Esperance mile). Good strong win last start and should land in a near identical position in running. RECAPITULATE won a 70+ at Albany two starts ago in style. Couldn’t lump the big weight last start. Better suited here. BEVEL is hitting form and just needs some luck from the draw. BARRY’S RABBIT is getting closer. Keep #Baz in consideration. Numbers: 3 – 4 – 9 – 5 Suggested Bet – HEAVEN’S GATE WIN RACE 5 DIRTY DOT won a very high rating C2 two starts ago. Bet home Sun Power (who has the scalp of Arsinoe) and progressive youngster Royal Solider. Was hard in the market last start in a race which has produced subsequent winners Baladeer and Whim Creek. Didn’t fire a shot but thinking that 1100m might be her best trip. Looks more than capable of rebounding hard. TRAMONTANE is always a winning chance in this grade if they let him cross. MELODY’S SECRET should get the right run from a soft draw. WHIM CREEK was afforded every chance by Hill last week. This gate is sticky but the Boy tends to relish those conditions. Numbers: 10 – 8 – 5 – 1 Suggested Bet – DIRTY DOT WIN RACE 6 SCENE TO SIN is absolutely flying. Freddo Brown has her in a purple patch of form. Her last few efforts from impossible barriers and positions in running have been enormous including last week where she absolutely savaged the line. With any luck she’s hard to beat. BLACK COMET was more than competitive throughout the Kalgoorlie season and traditional annual race round. Keep safe first-up. FOXY DREAMER won well last start in a race which has really held up as a form reference. Has turned a corner. OIHANA should be very well suited to this grade of racing. Not in the best form this preparation but has ability. Numbers: 4 – 5 – 6 – 7 Suggested Bet – SCENE TO SIN WIN RACE 7 ABBY LANE has burnt punters many a time throughout his career but he goes well fresh and has far superior metro form to rivals. Only four starts ago ran fourth behind Ration Aly (now winner of 6 from 10 and a m79 rater) and Peppijack who has since picked up a Mandurah Cup victory. Jo Leeson makes a myriad of gear changes and if he turns up he’ll win. BALLADEER is the obvious danger drawn 1. Ryan Hill rode the inside part of the Esperance track like George Moore last week. TEMPLE MAN gets back and runs on. ANY GIVEN TIME an improver. Numbers: 1 – 2 – 10 – 7 Suggested Bet – ABBY LANE WIN Quaddie (Race 4 – 7) 2,3,4,5,9 1,8,10 4,5,6,7 1,2 Market Market
