Deane Lester’s Caulfield Best Bets Posted on December 31, 2020December 31, 2020 | Posted by Deane Lester RACE 2 NO.16 MOEEN Lightly raced mare MOEEN has been racing in good form and looks a good each way chance when she runs in the Benchmark 64 Handicap (1400m). The Phillip Stokes trained galloper resumed with a solid 3rd over 1300 metres at Sandown Hillside on December 9 before a good closing 4th over 1400 metres at Sandown Lakeside on December 23. There looks good speed in this race which suits MOEEN’S racing style and talented rider Jamie Mott retains the ride so another bold showing can be expected at each way odds. RACE 7 NO.5 RULE THE WORLD Sydney visitor RULE THE WORLD makes his Melbourne debut when he runs in the Benchmark 78 Handicap (1400m) and a bold showing can be expected. The Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott trained gelding resumed with an even effort finishing 6th behind MONEGAL over 1400 metres at Kembla Grange on November 21. He was then moved to the Melbourne stable and has trialled in dashing fashion at Flemington in preparation for this race. He should race near the lead, make his own luck with champion rider Craig Williams in the saddle and prove hard to beat at generous odds. RACE 9 NO.13 WALKING FLYING WALKING FLYING has raced without luck in three runs this campaign, however she finds a very suitable race when she tackles a Benchmark 84 Handicap (1600m) and sharp improvement can be expected. The Tom Dabernig and Ben Hayes trained mare was very wide but still finished well in a leader dominated race when finishing 6th behind LUNAKORN over 1600 metres on December 26. She’s now at peak fitness, there looks good speed in this race which sets up well for WALKING FLYING to produce her best and that will be good enough to run very well. Market Market
