Scott Embry’s Thursday Mount Barker Preview Posted on December 31, 2020December 31, 2020 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 LUNE DE LA TERRE has promised to win a maiden for a long while and in this small field of 6 with a freshen of 95 days he looks to have found his race. Recent trial win was brilliant and God Has Chosen made that form look super when winning in style on debut. Should nearly lead and win. MOMENTS OF MAGIC comes back in trip and does have natural speed to burn. Does get the wobbles late. VRUM is a new comer to the region and joins Sam Faithfull’s yard. Key indication is that Tash rides this one over Troodles. BIG SWOOP next best. Numbers: 3 – 6 – 2 – 4 Suggested Bet – LUNE DE LA TERRE WIN RACE 2 BLUE CHEYENNE hails from the highly in-form stables of Bredon Fitzgerald who is travelling his horses with great success around WA at the moment. First-up at Bunbury was beaten 4.5L by Dash Doll (now C1 winner), Prized Nemesis (now maiden winner) and Snowpiercer who has since run another provincial maiden placing. Looks well placed against the older horses. OUR PANDEMONIUM has been knocking on the door all preparation and racing without the best of luck. Looks the logical danger and likely favourite. ANGELIC ENCORE is tiny but getting closer. RUSTY RIVITS can run a better race fresh. Numbers: 3 – 4 – 6 – 2 Suggested Bet – BLUE CHEYENNE WIN RACE 3 SLICED BREAD is having his first start for the Roy Rogers yard. Roy does a massive job with these older tried horses and Sliced Bread has super form throughout his career regardless of whether you look at his 3, 4 or 5 year old racing. All his efforts at Kalgoorlie measure up to this and he gets in with a winnable 60.5kg. Should be too big and too strong. TRANSGRESSOR always puts in his best and his best is good enough to give cheek. TRANQUILLA SUNRISE relished a bit of rain around at Albany on Boxing Day. Old marvel. POTENT SECRET is never far from the action and gets weight relief. Numbers: 4 – 2 – 1 – 3 Suggested Bet – SLICED BREAD WIN RACE 4 DYNAMITE BAY is going well and knocking on the door. Draws a gate to settle close handy in a race with a fair deal of pace. From there Beaux Edwards should be able to give him the run of the race and every mortal hope. Goes close. REACTION is particularly well placed back into C2 company after contesting exclusively tougher races for a fair while. Wins one soon. SHESAPOCKET ROCKET is kept fresh by Earl O’Loughlin who is the king of tried mares. She looks a big chance. MOAMA ROSE finds another new home after Justin Thomas couldn’t get her to go in Kal. Numbers: 4 – 1 – 3 – 5 Suggested Bet – DYNAMITE BAY WIN RACE 5 CLASSIC ROUGHE is a talented horse resuming in a C1 at Mt Barker. Ran third at Belmont Park beaten only 3L by Elite Street and Puli in a 3 year old 0MWLY race at Belmont back in July. If he can reproduce anywhere near that kind of performance from the wide gate he’ll be very hard to hold out late. SWIFT GONDO caught the eye last start and the sectionals didn’t lie. She was a brilliant run. DEMERITISE has promised to win another race for a while but finds one better each time. SHEZBUTOO was going super only a few months back. Numbers: 2 – 3 – 5 – 7 Suggested Bet – CLASSIC ROGUE WIN RACE 6 SOWAR has super form for a race of this nature. Ran third behind Puckapunyal and Truly Great three starts ago in a 1600 at Belmont Park. Truly Great is now a Group 1 winner and that race alone has produced 51 runners for 10 metro wins and 11 metro placings. Should be winning off that form. WAR CLASS resumes and is really talented. Gets 5kg off Sowar and a gate to make things interesting. APOLLO didn’t get the best of runs first-up and from that race Cockyjoy is a subsequent winner. Could see out the Wolfe trifecta. DANEHILL STORM can be hard to run down if they allow Jess Gray to cross. Numbers: 2 – 6 – 1 – 3 Suggested Bet – SOWAR WIN RACE 7 MOOD GODDESS did everything but win last start. Has been nearly impossible to make ground at Bunbury and she had to sustain a run with weight and only went down fighting to a progressive type in Babytino. Will need to be good to win this but should have them covered for class. LOSING TICKET is an 1800m specialist. Loves the Barker 1850, loved the Ascot 1800 and is in career best form. Wonderful story and no reason why Melda Daniel’s fairy-tale can’t continue. ARMED AND READY is really well suited to this grade of race and now after bleeding ratings points get in on the minimum. If he doesn’t fire a shot here it’s time for the paddock. VITAL BOOM looks to be slowly but surely building into the preparation. Numbers: 2 – 7 – 9 – 10 Suggested Bet – MOOD GODDESS WIN Quaddie (Race 4 – 7) 1,3,4 2,3 2,6 2,7,9 Market Market
