Scott Embry’s Monday Albany Preview Posted on April 25, 2020April 24, 2020 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 BLONDE WARRIOR gets another go here. She joins the Albany stables of Liam O’Loughlin and has only been moderate so far this preparation after leaving David Harrison and now Michael Lane. ‘Earl’ O’Loughlin can improve mares and fillies so she could be getting better and better. DON’T OVERTAKE has done nothing wrong in her career. From the draw looks the big danger on paper. OXBRIDGE has the blinkers added and you would expect that Brodie Kirby had first selection of the Steve Wolfe horses. CALLING CARD trialled up well and ran well on debut. Numbers: 10 – 8 – 4 – 5 Suggested Bet – BLONDE WARRIOR WIN RACE 2 MASS EFFECT has been a model of consistency his entire career. There are a few gear chances with the winkers going on and the blinkers off and this tempo should really suit him. MR PAGO won well at Albany two starts ago in cracking time and then went to town when he was beaten a fair way. Now drops back in grade, comes back to Albany and draws a gate to sit close handy to a hot tempo. CORPORATE LARRIKIN is likely to cross and run them along. AGROUND getting close. Numbers: 3 – 2 – 1 – 5 Suggested Bet – MASS EFFECT WIN RACE 3 LORD KRONOS needs these extremely rare 70+ 1500m races. He gets in on the minimum and Jade McNaught should have him one out and one back ready to pounce. OUR BUDDY BOY leads and runs and won a very similar race to this only five starts back. REALISE POTENTIAL is going well this preparation and Alan Kennedy should be able to get across from the wide gate. SIR SNUGALOT is a query at 1500m as many of the opposition are. He does get a good chance to box seat from the draw. Numbers: 6 – 5 – 4 – 3 Suggested Bet – LORD KRONOS WIN RACE 4 TRIGGERFISH has 61.5kg to carry which is only a half less than he had last start when running an honest fifth. The draw should see him sit midfield and if Jade McNaught can find any cover at all this looks a nice race for him. MYGIRLFRANKIE has a wide draw to contend with but the mare continues to race in great style and will just need some luck. REGAL REBELLE is the third of the four Steve Wolfe runners and looks to have legitimate chances after a strong effort in the Golden Bracelet. UNIVERSAL VAIN an improver at a big price. Numbers: 1 – 4 – 6 – 5 Suggested Bet – TRIGGERFISH WIN RACE 5 IONYX looks a class above rivals here. This is a really good race for him and 60.5 definitely a winnable weight for him. Went back to trials after running off the track (as he can do) at Ascot and was dominant. Draws a gun alley and should be too good for them. CHASING CHOAS a winning chance if Kristy Bennett can hold the front. BLACK MISSILE is going well but runs into a nice one. COLD AS COLD is building into the preparation but not firing on all cylinders. Numbers: 2 – 1 – 3 – 4 Suggested Bet – IONYX WIN RACE 6 WILLOW RIVER has been a real find this season for Rebecca Wallrodt. This mare can sustain a run and if they are making any real ground at Albany she’s a big winning chance. There is a cutaway and while that may not be the place to be it does mean that the back markers should get a crack at them when they fan for home. MOLLY TWOHUNDRED is a talented mare and on her day has the turn of acceleration to win. LITTLE PUNGA is fool proof. You know exactly what you’re going to get with him. MAGIC OPUS won well last start when leading. Numbers: 5 – 4 – 1 – 3 Suggested Bet – WILLOW RIVER WIN RACE 7 WHAT ABOUT MOSES was very disappointing last start when heavily supported late in betting. Willing to forgive and forget because on his day he is good enough to win in town. Draws a gate and the blinkers go on. SPICULUS was super fresh. Going to need to burn early to find a spot from the horror draw unfortunately. DANEHILL STORM has been going well for a long time. Didn’t get much luck last start. STARAUTHORESS impressed at her stable debut. Numbers: 3 – 2 – 1 – 6 Suggested Bet – WHAT ABOUT MOSES WIN Quaddie (R4 – R7) 1,4,6 1,2 1,3,4,5,7 1,2,3,4,6 Market Market
