RACE 7 No.8 Dawn Dawn

Lightly raced Team Hawkes trained mare who put in a terrific effort first up at Caulfield in Group 3 company behind the flying Winter Bride. She had little option than to go back having drawn a horror gate before closing off solidly in the straight winding up 3rd. She drops to a Benchmark grade race tomorrow, strips fitter and will carry less weight, plenty of ticks!

RACE 8 No.6 Drachenfels

Not the easiest horse to catch win wise however he’s rarely far from the action having placed his last couple here and on the Kensington track. He’s having his first run for the Bjorn Baker stable tomorrow having formerly been with Godolphin. Inside draw, pet trip, does appear great each-way value.

Race 9 No.8 Fierce Impact

Japanese bred galloper who put in a strong performance here first up over 1400m behind Tip Top closing off strongly. Was then thrown in the deep end when stepped up to Group 1 level in the Toorak Handicap at Caulfield a fortnight back when far from disgraced winding up less than 6 lengths from the winner. Back to a Benchmark 88 tomorrow appears very well placed.
