Chris Nelson’s Rosehill Best Bets Posted on July 13, 2018 | Posted by Chris Nelson Chris Nelson’s Best Bets RACE 1 No.1 The Fire Trap Trainer Matt Dunn knows how to place his horses as we’ve seen in his many Highway Handicap wins over the last couple of seasons. Tomorrow he brings this 2yo south after a three runs which have resulted in two wins and a strong 4th sandwiched in between when arguably he could have won had he drawn a decent gate. Yes the opposition are stronger however I’m backing Matt’s judgement. RACE 2 No.2 Rekindled Force Beautifully bred now gelding who won his first two outings against inferior opposition comfortably before failing in town when jockey Andrew Adkins suggested it might be time for a break. He returns tomorrow having trialled twice against decent opposition looking sharp at the latest when beaten narrowly by Zestful. From a rails gate tomorrow he’ll just about lead and take plenty of catching. RACE 3 No.1 Asterius Plenty of weight however the claim certainly helps. Gives every indication he’s looking for the longer trip now after 1400m and 1500m wins with the latest being off a strong tempo up front. Only lightly raced having won 3 of his 5 starts he looks to be really on the up. Expect him to get back early before finishing with a big finish rounding up his rivals down the straight.
