RACE 3 No. 5 Darktown Strutter

Pulled up sore on debut & was immediately sent to the spelling paddock. She trialled in top order before resuming at Ipswich demolishing her rivals to score by 6 lengths over 800m. Up to 1100m second up at the Gold Coast she again gave her rivals a galloping lesson. Yes, tomorrow race is harder however she’s well up to it and will land the perfect run from a gun draw.

RACE 7 No. 11 Backslapper

Lightly raced gelding from the Steve Tregea yard who has been very well placed throughout his short career to date. Run down late first up at the Sunshine Coast before being shipped north to Rockhampton over their carnival proving far too good with the steadier of 60kg. He’s up against much stiffer opposition tomorrow however down to 54kg and in winning form could well surprise.

RACE 9 No. 5 Raja Ampat

Tidy effort last Saturday at the Sunshine Coast behind the likes of Prioritise and Care To Think who are both promising types. He just gave away too much start before finding the line solidly late. His two prior runs this prep resulted in a dominant win and a solid finishing 3rd, up to the 1350m tomorrow looks ideal and he again will be hitting the line with plenty of energy.
