Scott Embry’s Albany Sunday Preview Posted on April 14, 2017April 14, 2017 | Posted by Scott Embry Race 1 MALILANGWE gets his best chance yet to win a race. 1000m is the only concern in this field. LADY STINGRAY got within a few length of Fitzpatrick fancies Run Liam Run and My Greek Boy. That’s good enough for this. VITAL BOOM has ability but think this might be a too sharp. CRAFTY MADDIE could give them something to chase. Numbers: 1- 9 – 2 – 6 Suggested Bet – MALILANGWE WIN Race 2 FIREMAN FREDDY ran a nice race last preparation behind Gee Boss and Dainty Tess. If he reproduces that performance he goes close. FRANKLY SCARLETT looked good in a recent Albany trial. TRUE POWER is a model of consistency. OLAF could be the big improver if allowed to roll out in front. Numbers: 6 – 2 – 1 – 5 Suggested Bet – FIREMAN FREDDY WIN Race 3 KARMA BELL improved out of sight at the trials when ridden forwards with Winkers on over 1450m. If she has any ability she wins. SO EDGY will likely lead and give cheek. DUDEMANBRO looks the second elect of the Warwick trained duo. TEMPLAR’S CROSS has had his fair share of chances but this race lacks any depth. Numbers: 10 – 2 – 4 – 3 Suggested Bet – KARMA BELL WIN Race 4 VINO BENETEAU hates winning but is ultra consistent. Beat most of these by a few lengths last start. FAIRLY HOT is another noted non-winner but should hit the line hard. NODUSTONME steps straight out of maiden company but the 3 year old has run into some handy types throughout his career. WAR JEUNE is a query at 1500m and has to lump a huge impost. Numbers: 7 – 2 – 4 – 1 Suggested Bet – VINO BENETEAU WIN Race 5 COUNTERCAT was the target of solid support last start and from the beautiful alley should go close. COSMAH DOMINATION was given a sore back last start, the riding engagement is a massive positive. JESTER ROCK is as consistent as they come. OUR BUDDY BOY is up sharply in grade, however, has gone from strength to strength since being allowed to freewheel. Numbers: 8 – 6 – 4 – 7 Suggested Bet – COUNTERCAT EACHWAY Race 6 CAPTIVATED POINT is likely to open up close to odds on and deservingly so after his destruction of rivals first-up from a long absence. SNACK PACK was left with wind-burn as Captivated Point went past him last start but he should be around the placings. MISS KITWE and BABBLE will both get back but should be hitting the line. Numbers: 6 – 13 – 5 – 12 Suggested Bet – CAPTIVATED POINT WIN TABtouch SuperPick – Profit Plus 25% Race 7 SENATE BIANCA was still at the furlong when Kronstadt went for home last start. This race looks very winnable on paper. COUNT KALA chased hard behind progressive galloper Captivated Point. QINGDAO drops in grade and can be competitive. KINGDOM OF DREAMS was once a very nice horse in South Australia. If he turned up he would belt them. Numbers: 9 – 10 – 4 – 2 Suggested Bet – SENATE BIANCA WIN Race 8 RUN LIAM RUN won this race last year when held up til the 50m mark. His recent trial suggests he is raring to go and is bound to give backers a great sight. CANDLELIGHT STAR gave some pretty handy gallopers blisters at Ascot. SECRET MINX goes well fresh and should be right on top of the hot speed. MY GREEK BOY could do it tough from barrier 9 but he is pretty classy. Numbers: 7 – 2 – 4 – 8 Suggested Bet – RUN LIAM RUN WIN Race 9 MY MAGIC MISS is backing up off 7 days from running past a few talented types like Material Man and Zarantz in the Pinjarra Cup. If it rains that will only enhance her winning prospects. WAYSIDE won the Geraldton Cup in a canter, however, this looks a bit tougher. RHINO BUSTER has been up for a very long time but keeps producing. FALCON CREST gets Pike back into the saddle and must be respected. Numbers: 6 – 12 – 9 – 2 Suggested Bet – MY MAGIC MISS WIN Race 10 ELITE FLIGHT was huge in defeat last start. The grey mare could have easily taken a place in the Albany Cup field and should give punters some joy in the Get-Out Stakes. DUST ME OFF will relish every inch of 2000m. MY NAMES BRUCE looks to be screaming out for this sort of trip. TONED is a wonderful old money spinner having his 105th career start. Numbers: 5 – 3 – 13 – 15 Suggested Bet – ELITE FLIGHT WIN Quaddie (Race 7 – 10) 2,4,9,10,14 2,4,7,8 2,6,9,12 3,5,11,13,15
