Trent Cooper’s GP Preview Posted on August 26, 2016August 26, 2016 | Posted by Trent Cooper Race 1: WESTRALIAN 3YO FILLIES MS PACE LADYS ARE IDEAL (10) is the least experienced runner in the field but has won two of her three race starts, including an all the way victory at her only start in WA. She is drawn behind a good beginner and will be hard to hold out with any luck. NOWUSEEMEGIRL (1) rises sharply in grade for this but her recent wins have been in good time and she has the pole. SHEER ROCKNROLL (6) has bounced back with wins at her last two starts and can overcome the draw. EYES ON THE MONEY (2) has been close up of late and should be thereabouts from the draw. Tips:10 1 6 2 Suggested Bet: LADYS ARE IDEAL (10) each way. Race 2: IRENE`S GIFT MS PACE BEAUDIENE BEAUFIGHTER (1) made a big impression at his 2nd WA start when he led throughout in 1.54.1. He then handed up to his talented stablemate, Chicago Bull, and chased that gelding home in a 55.8 last half and that form should prove superior to his rivals here. LOMBO LOUGANIS (10) has been placed at his last two in weaker company but should enjoy a nice run and can be in the money again. EL SUNAMI (4) and REAL ZEAL (6) are consistent types and shouldn’t be far away. Tips: 1 10 4 6 Suggested Bet: BEAUDIENE BEAUFIGHTER (1) to win. Race 3: WESTRALIAN WASHROOMS – GOOD TO GO! MS PACE SKY ART (9) has been racing well, including a 1.58.7 win over Master Jaxon and he chased home Chicago Bull in a 55.6 half last start. He is drawn wide but can unwind a big finish and will be hard to hold out. SPECTACTULAR (10) and RYCROFT (11) are the other two class runners of the field and both can work in transit so the tactics employed could be decisive. YOUR EXCUSED (1) doesn’t have the class of his three main rivals but looks the leader over the sprint trip and will give them something to catch. Tips: 9 10 11 1 Suggested Bet: SKY ART (9) to win. Race 4: WESTRALIAN “TIME TO SHINE” HANDICAP SS PACE PAY ME CULLEN (6) has won three of his last five and was a good last start 3rd to The Bucket List. He is drawn wide but starts off the front and should be hard to beat. NAUGHTY MARAVU (8) is racing extremely well and was a last start 2nd in the Marathon. He has to give away 10m to his main rivals but should be thereabouts. BASHFUL COMPTON (4) led and wasn’t beaten far last start and should be in the finish if he can find the top again. ASSASSINATOR (1) is perfectly drawn and could be dangerous off a soft run. Tips: 6 8 4 1 Suggested Bet: PAY ME CULLEN (6) to win. Race 5: SPECIALIST FINANCE GROUP MS PACE OUR IDEAL ACT (12) is racing extremely well, with close 2nds to The Bucket List and El Jacko at his last two starts. He has drawn the back line but has plenty of strength and will give a great sight. IMA CONNOISSEUR (7) will appreciate the slightly easier company and can be in the finish. ZNANA (2) and SAY IT NOW (1) are drawn perfectly and should be thereabouts despite rising in class after recent wins. Tips: 12 7 2 1 Suggested Bet: OUR IDEAL ACT (12) each way. Race 6: SOUTHERN CROSS THE SCHRADER FINAL AMERICAN BOY (1) has won 14 of his 20 starts and led throughout to beat the The Odd Lover before having a tough run when finishing last behind IDEAL JUSTICE (3) last start. He looks the leader here and should be very hard to catch. NORTHERN ASSASSIN (2) has been flying in tougher grade, leading throughout in 1.56.2 and then was beaten a half head in fast class company in 1.55.0 last start but probably can’t find the front tonight. RISK (5) and IDEAL JUSTICE (3) were both impressive last start winners but may not get any favours from their draws. Tips: 1 2 5 3 Suggested Bet: AMERICAN BOY (1) to win. Race 7: WESTRALIAN AUGUST CUP MS PACE RUN ONEOVER (12) has been ultra-consistent this campaign with five wins and four 2nds from his ten starts. He looked to have his chance when beaten a nose last start but he did have a flat tyre and looks suited at the distance tonight. LIBERTYBELLE MIDFREW (1) had no luck at her return but did lead throughout to win a heat of the Inters so must be respected. BETTORS FIRE (4) resumed from a spell with a slashing 2nd and may use his gate speed from this draw. OUR SKY MAJOR (3) is proven in this company and looks to be getting back to his something like his NZ form. Tips: 12 1 4 3 Suggested Bet: RUN ONEOVER (12) to win. Race 8: WESTRALIAN MARES MS PACE TRICKY STYX (9) was in sparkling form before a spell and warmed up for this with a brilliant Byford trial and should be able to overcome the wide draw. LADY WILLOUGHBY (8) was a strong last start winner and is the other class mare in this field. HIGHVIEW JACKIE (3) disappointed at her last start but her previous form was good enough to see her in the money here. NOTHINGBUTADREAM (1) doesn’t have the class of her main rivals but can be placed from this draw. Tips: 9 8 3 1 Suggested Bet: TRICKY STYX (9) to win. Race 9: WESTRALIAN “THE CLEAR CHOICE” 2YO MS PACE MESSI (3) created a big impression at his racetrack debut when he faced the breeze and was a comfortable 1.56.8 winner at Northam. He goes up in class for this assignment but looks very smart and is clearly the one to beat. ANSA THE QUESTION (1) has improved significantly over his four career runs, leading throughout for an easy win at his last start and must be respected from the pole. COURAGE TO LIVE (10) and LORD WILLOUGHBY (6) have been racing in fields with more depth and shouldn’t be far away. Tips: 3 1 10 6 Suggested Bet: MESSI (3) to win. Race 10: WESTRALIAN CLASSIC 3YO WESTBRED MS PACE SHEZ OUR EYE CANDY (4) was brave at her first run back from a spell when she was attacked in front and still managed to fight on to finish 3rd in a similar field last week. She should be fitter for that run and is the one to beat. RICH CRANLEIGH (10) was a fair 3rd in a stronger field and should enjoy a soft trip here. DAVINCIS FISCAL (1) has shown ability in trials and must be respected from the pole. PHAR LUN (7) faced the breeze when 2nd at Kellerberin and that reads well for this event. Tips: 4 10 1 7 Suggested Bet: SHEZ OUR EYE CANDY (4) to win. Bet Now!
