Match Overview

Historically England hold a strong advantage over Wales having beaten them in the past four meetings between the two countries.  Wales have not beaten England since 1984.

England will be at full strength for this most important clash with Group leaders Wales who could again be without first choice keeper Wayne Hennessey (back spasm).  Danny Ward will again be the replacement keeper if Hennessey does not make the match.

England Manager Roy Hodgson must decide if he will use Jamie Vardy after he warmed the bench against Russia.  The ongoing warning of potential match sanctions hanging over England’s head is adding further unwanted pressure to the squad.

Eric Dier was their scorer against Russia and Hodgson needs to be more attacking and utilize his strong band of strikers before shutting the gates like they tried against Russia.

Gareth Bale opened up the scoring for Wales with Robson-Kanu confirming the win in late in the piece (81) against Slovakia.

Wales will be full of confidence coming into this match but England are in a different class than Slovakia.
